I look at all the 5 stars this Company gets on Google then I see 1 star. I say to myself how can everyone be satisfied in life? After seeing this one star I want to give my view point since I have been a customer for over two years. First and Foremost Ian, Pat and Mike are just outstanding people in general. They have a good heart and are all game to treat their customers like family. I have a multi family home in the town of Fallsburg I have had nothing but amazing service. Not to say when I had issues at 2 am and the temperature outside is 5 degrees, the boiler boys of VEO put there tool belts on and were at my home within an hour. They are professional and courteous and some of them really just break it down for you to understand what is happening when they are done with the job. They have great prices trust me on that. I was with Fallsburg Gas, CEO of Monticello they were complete opposites of this family owned business. They gave me good prices to only have the following years make up it to them with no deals and bang out prices to hit your wallet, thinking you are not going to check. Unlike me I do Check since I order over a thousand gallons of fuel each year. That is how I found VEO good prices and great service. One other note last year I had a problem with my boiler which it took time to figure out what was wrong with it and VEO came every time to my home till they got it done! By the way they backed up the price as well to make sure I was not hurt during all the visits they came to. To the person who had an issue with VEO not sitting here to target anyone about VEO what they feel. But I would say give them a chance speak to them they are more than willing to give a hand. Everyone has a bad day including me and you. To Mike, Ian and the gang at VEO I would like to wish you all a happy holidays and a sweet prosperous New Year. Thank you, for all you do for me and for the rest of our community you are a true stand up company that I enjoy to be with. My family! Thank you! *******UPDATE***************************** VEO lives up to it's slogan a family business which treats it's customers with the upmost respect and great pricing. Let me start with my house was built in 1962 and my Chimney was falling apart. I called VEO spoke to Mike Foster regarding putting an instant hot water and heater for my home. He put in a Lochnivar boiler and hot water system. The system has been running for over a month. Hot water is running amazing for 4 showers with no issues. Winter season is coming lets see what will happen. I will update this rating sometime in the winter to see how the system is working. Anyways the piping was all redone the system is so quiet you do not even realize it's there on the wall. I gained so much space in my boiler room as well. I was so happy with the work that they completed that I had to just stop by and say thank you to the owner. Eli who runs the place, Patrick, Tom and of course Michael Foster VEO Propane division manager. To all the gang at VEO thank you for all you do and the pricing you came in at beat all the competitors that I got quoted for. You are really amazing company. PS My hot water was not working out of no where. I was like dam there she goes this great instant hot water system. Called VEO within 30 minutes Tom shows up at the home checks the system everywhere and says I do not understand? He then looks at the breaker and notices its off, LOL. No power no hot water. I said Tom I did not do it. I said let me check my nest camera which is installed in my boiler room. I did and found my contractor turned off the breaker. So good job for the quick response and getting it up again. You guys are the best, thank you!

Imagine being surprised not once, not twice but 3 times by VEO delivering propane to you when you haven’t asked for it after they promised you the last time they would not do this again, no automatic deliveries, then being hung up on by their employee because they are so unprofessional they cannot handle a complaint and finish a conversation with you, talk over you, then hang up on you when you are trying to not only pay your bill but sort out what went wrong yet again. When VEO set up my account they agreed to let me call them when I needed propane and fuel. I have proof of this. They promised me the last time this happened that no more automatic deliveries of propane would happen and it has happened yet again. So I was lied to and this is essentially stealing from me when you send deliveries that weren’t asked for or approved and then are all: “You have a past due bill of ____!” and hang up on me without being able to have a conversation as to what is going on. I can’t have surprise bills because I can’t afford it. I was told prior to my recent delivery of biofuel on Monday 2/24 that my bill would be $344 after the credit I have. Today, Tuesday 3/4, I was told I have a past due bill of $643 that includes a past due balance of a propane delivery in March when I have no knowledge of any propane delivery at all! Update: They admit that they were wrong yet decided they were going to just come get my tank and take it away tomorrow, in the middle of winter, leaving me without propane, hot water or a stove that works and charge me $175 for them to do so. Way to treat your customers after you’re the ones who messed up time and time again. Unreal. All of this could have been avoided had VEO stuck to the agreement that they initially agreed to with me when my account was set up and been able to have a conversation with me when I was voicing my rightful complaints about what was going on and to rectify the problem instead of hanging up on me. But to take it a step further and take away someone’s hot water in the middle of winter which could cause my pipes to freeze and the ability to cook food is beyond nasty work. I paid for the propane that is in that tank. I never said anything about coming and taking the tank away. So VEO is making it their mission to punish a customer for their own mistakes leaving them without hot water or a way to cook food in the middle of winter which is some childish immature behavior when all they had to do was to be able to have a conversation with me. I’m not even sure that what they are doing is legal so I have contacted the Better Business Bureau. Amazing how they went from being so nice and accommodating when I set up the account to this. They are not trustworthy at all and I am sorry I ever spent one dollar at their company. I could have done without any of this. It was all so unnecessary.

We decided to have our entire oil-based heating system removed from the house and replaced with a cleaner, high-efficiency propane-based system. We also wanted to replace our 80 gallon hot water heater and have it extracted from the basement. We spoke with four different contractors, but decided to go with VEO. Actually, we were existing VEO customers for years, but we wanted to do our due diligence with such a big project. Our decision was made easy by the way the owner of the company personally got involved to "win back our business." Not to mention, they are local and their employees are very talented, polite and work very quickly. The best part was that the quote for the entire job was lower than we expected. I would definitely recommend VEO for your heating oil or propane needs. They are up to the job, accessible when you need them, and you won't be disappointed in the quality of their work.

For the full 1-star review details go to Better Business Bureau.

In August 2017 VEO booked an appointment for gas installation but they DID NOT show up and DID NOT even called. I called VEO and their representative said that she had overbooked me. They rescheduled me for 3 WEEKS LATER but I was able to reduce the waiting time to 2 WEEKS after I appealed to them that I needed warm water and cooked meals for my children.

Before gas instalation VEO sent a guy to verify my oil tanks/heating system. The gentleman that arrived was VERY unprofessional. He walked inside the tank room and checked the system in my basement as he was throwing "F" bombs and "S#!T" bombs in my house. He was saying that effing "F" home inspectors do S#itty jobs when doing their inspections and implied that the house that I just bought was in S#itty condition. He gave me a quick quote of almost $3,000 so that the heating system could be apt enough in order for him to deliver oil to me. I though that if VEO has this kind of employee working for them is because they stand by him. After all, VEO website declares that their employees are more important than their clients.I stood quiet and swallowed his insult because my family needed gas.

A few days later after the installation was performed by Mr. Mike and an apprentice. Mike accidentally dropped his heavy clipboard and it hit the gas line. I did not think much of it at the time and trusted VEO. About 6 weeks later the gas was GONE. I went to the tank to verify what happened. To our surprise my wife and I perceived a gas odor. I closed the gas faucet and called VEO immediately. VEO felt very uncomfortable with but agreed to check the gas leak problem the next day.

The next day VEO came to my house and I welcomed them. I asked the driver to tell me how he would go about the gas leak and filling the tank before he actually did it. The driver seemed to be in a rush and became frustrated when he realized that he actually had to take some time to answer my questions.

The driver gradually became more sarcastic, started smirking, and raised his voice to me. He spend a few minutes talking with VEO privately and then came to me inaccurate information about my account.

At this point I was very offended at how the driver was disrespecting me in my own house. The driver put Mike on the speaker. I wanted to further tell Mike about his employee misconduct but Mike had no interest in it. Mike even challenged me to leave to another company. I responded and asked them to please fill my tank, check the gas leak and bill me because my family needed gas now.

Mike fiercely accused me of being irrational and impossible to serve. I asked him again to please fill my tank, check the gas leak and to bill me because my family needed gas now but Mike was too upset. Mike used the falsely narrative that I was trying to force VEO to give me a bigger tank to refuse gas for my family. I tried to contact one of the company's owner, Mr. Eli, he did not want to speak to me. The delivery guys did not take their tank right away but later sneaked into my house without notification and without permission and took the tank.

VEO was polite at first but that changed once I started asking for accountability. VEO knew that I had no experience dealing with a gas company because I told them that I had just moved Upstate from the City. I told VEO that my questions were intended to learn the process. However, VEO was not sensitive about my safety concerns and were really bothered by me when I asked them questions. I was very understanding and gave them many opportunities, but they abused my generosity. VEO miss-characterized me, misrepresented me and humiliated me. Their words do not reconcile with their actions. With their mouth they say that they are customer oriented but they had the audacity to leave my wife and children without warm water and warm cooked meals during cold weather. VEO also left me stranded with a gas leak. And at the end, I ended up paying for gas that I didn't use because there...
