Monticello Bagel Bakery — Restaurant in Town of Thompson

Ive grown up here and will always loves this place and and being served by everyone in there EXCEPT!! (and only because i dont know her name in no way am i being judgemental or disrespectful) the broad with the blonde hair and cleft lip. She is truly awful at actually doing her job, she does it all with a smile and kind attitude (until of course you’re objective or confrontational with her at all then its just a drama seen usually only because of her). Going in there i dread her taking care of me because i know im getting bare minimum quality, everyone else is generous with how they take care of people but just today i watched her barely acknowledge my order while involved in other conversation and i got a bagel flattened down with a fine layer of cream cheese. Dont even bother with any cooked food with her because it’ll most likely be either overcooked or not at all (which is bizarre to be able to mess that up) and thats if your order is correct. She has GOT TO GO its been tolerated for some time ive spoken up a few times now i just feel i have to simplify my order and get something basic and easy if she is taking my order and even then she clearly has no desire to work and it shows even behind the front of kind customer service. Ill always continue to go here but just figured some useful customer feedback would be desired instead of the usual “your bagels are amazing”...

First, I called to place a pick up order and the male on the phone was very unprofessional answering “ hello hello hello what can I get you” Then when my fiancé went to pick up our order my fiancé asked if the one bagel had lettuce and tomato his response was sarcastic “sometimes I listen” when I food arrived it was missing cheese so we called and asked for the male that took the order and explained. The male raised his voice and started arguing. We went to the bagel bakery and ask for the male that took the order. (Short Caucasian male with a ski hat on) explained that there was no cheese on the bagels and stop being sarcastic. Then the male became irate and invited my fiancé out to fight saying “meet me at Autozone. My fiancé replied I just want my money back So he returned my money and kept being irate and saying “ you don’t know me bro” Extremely unprofessional. What a terrible experience for such a great place and awesome food. Those kind of people should not work in these types...

An absolute must if you are in the Monticello area, located smack dab in the middle of downtown it's super easy to find. This place opens at 4am which is awesome for the latenight shift worker and the early morning shift starter too! They offer everything on the menu at that early hour....except the french toast bagel which is generally available by 5ish.... Recommend going when they first open for a fresh plain bagel and coming back at 5am for a french toast bagel.... I also strongly recommend trying the monster breakfast sandwich. this beast is three meats(personal fav: bacon, ham, sausage) egg and cheese on a bagel of your choice (for those who are adventurous do it on a french toast bagel!!!) All in all this place is tops for bagels, along with a few other select baked goods, sandwiches and bounties of beverages. And if i didn't mention it before try the french toast bagel.
