HORRIBLE! Decided to treat family last night 5/30 and that was a mistake, I haven”t been to Moe’s in a few months and didn’t”t want to deal with the SUNY crowd at chipotle . I should have left , used to be clean, friendly and food was tasty with good portion sizes. What ever happened during their “rebranding” was a really bad idea! The greeting from staff startled the poo out of me as it sounded like army recruits answering their sarge (not friendly at all) The 6pieces of weird cubed steak looked like dog food , the chicken looked weird , portions were sized for toddlers , salsa smelled really bad, drink machine was down 50% of choices , floors were sticky and every employee looked scared/sorry and made no eye contact. Once we got home , my kid wouldn’t finish her bowl after 4 bites because the rice was partially crunchy and steak was gross, boyfriend was spitting out steak pieces due to fat and gristle and my chicken bowl was edible but questionable ( I was starving so I ate it) . I also need to add nothing is grilled anymore which was what makes the meats , onions, peppers so tasty, the Combi ovens they are using is a bad call , I have used them before and can attest that they make meat taste weird , it has a “grill” option but honestly it’s an over priced steamer.
Morning update - text on my phone from boyfriend at 3am let me know cramps and “quick evacuation” of Moe’s was occurring. My daughter left traces of an “emergency evacuation blow” in the bathroom in wee hours of morning , those 2 got the steak bowls, I think I was much luckier as I got the chicken bowl and only had a stomach ache. Needless to say we will never be going back as I have found this is happening in a lot of Moe’s now per other review sites, Nothing like $45 to get crap food and mild...
Read moreIn the past, this location has been pretty good, but our most recent visit was not. My wife ordered online and was given a time when her order would be ready. She waited for curbside pick-up and ended up having to go in because they couldn’t locate her order. They said something about the order didn’t print, so she waited again for them to prepare the order. When she tried to pick it up, they gave her difficulty because they said there was no name on the order, although her name is on the order printout they gave her.
All that would have been annoying, but not that big of a deal if the food was good. But it was not. Most of the chicken in the burritos was dry, burned and chewy. They also barely put any cheese on them, and what little they did was just in one very end. Same for the sour cream. One small dollop in the same end. Only got either of those in the last couple bites. The burritos were just very dry tasting and easily the worst I have ever had from there. And the chips were terrible too. They only gave her a small portion of mostly the broken little leftover chips for two burritos, and those had been heavily over-fried. They were very dark, oily and did not taste good at all. Ended up throwing those away. She didn’t get her red salsa that she ordered either, but I guess that didn’t end up being a big deal since the chips weren’t any good anyway.
I understand that they were a little busy, but the quality just did not live anywhere near up to what I normally expect from Moe’s. I usually go to the Front St. location and have never been disappointed there. Hopefully this was just a bad night for this location and any potential future visits will be better. If so, I will definitely make sure to...
Read moreReally disappointed in the "portion" I got. Background: My mom and myself both ordered the Adobe chicken bowl. I don't think we got a true portion of anything! Rice was maybe half a spoon, beans barely covered the edge of the spoon (not even 2 teaspoons) chicken seemed like it was a toddler portion of 1/4 cup! Pico was 1 tablespoon, cheese maybe 2 tablespoons, and the question, ya know how you pay 2 extra dollars for it?? We got 2 half filled and half poured spoonfuls, not 2 full spoonfuls but maybe 1/2 of a spoonful. But oh boy did we get lettuce, a full handful of it (due to the inexpensive cost of it) and also asked for the Chipotle ranch that was a fair portion. My bowl looked like I ate it and that is what was left over from not being able to finish it. I will provide a picture. Now, I understand that each person will load your bowl differently but for 12 dollars this was a huge rip off. We did get chips and salsa free as stated in their board but I hardly think it made up for the actual lack of food.
Side note, salsa station was slightly messy and there were signage boards covering an entire booth. I had to wipe down our booth due to spilled food.
Googled copycat recipes and will be making my own Bowls at home from now on. So...
