We visited Twin Elder during our yearly trip to NY and, unfortunately, ended up in there during an "adult trick or treat event"...
The beer was decent, but we only got to enjoy one flight as it was absolutely insane in there once the town-wide event started and rhe bar was overran by rude adults in costume who seem to to have forgotten all manners on how to treat a server (or tip!).
The food was definitely rushed as the it looked to be one girl cooking and knly the two ladies serving barside. Our server, dressed as a german beer maid, was absolutely astounding and killed it in every aspect. I felt bad for her though because her counterpart seemed to be rude to her and not working nearly as hard.
Anyway, the food wasnt great. White uncooked onions on the smashburger overwhelmed the burger which made it a bit hard to eat. The motz appetizer was a soggy luke-warm glob of cheese and mushy breading. I would have sent them back but i didnt want to cause any issues for the ladies who were already understaffed and over worked. The brewery should have hired someone else on for that event because it...
Read moreYou can’t please everyone. This brewery had more children in it than adults for a solid hour of the time we were there. In fact, it really looked like there was a child’s birthday party going on. At a brewery? I’m sorry but that’s just not the place as much as the kids were well behaved. For young couples and families, maybe this place is your cup of tea. For a younger crowd or perhaps parents looking to specifically get away from kids for an evening out, this is not the place for you. The beer was not bad and we tried about 8 of them. The jalapeño IPA was OK and I also had a coffee stout which I liked. The bar tenders were great also. I would give them 5 stars if I could. They also allow dogs which means they don’t serve food. This seems to be a trend out there also but if I’m looking for a place to go for a night out, I’d rather go somewhere with a creative menu than with dogs. I probably won’t be back for these reasons as the craft brewery industry is competitive and I’d choose to...
Read moreI threw my husband a 40th Birthday Party at Twin Elder. It was amazing. First, their beers are so good. Second, they were so helpful and responsive in the planning up to the party. They answered emails right away, and I sent several. We reserved their private room to keep our food and presents in, and they allowed us to decorate it any way we wanted (with tape). We wanted to do open bar for a certain amount of time/dollar amount, and they gave us bracelets to help us track our party on our tab and told us when we were getting close to the amount. Their selection of beverages is great for a brewery as well. Like I said, their beers are great with an amazing variety (Bocks, Lagers, Ales, IPAs, etc.). They also have additional types of beverages for those who don't like beer (cocktails, cider, wine, and soda). Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the service they provided and the friendly staff. I would highly recommend this brewery for parties and/or just to go and...
