My first time coming to Texas road house was OKAY, probably won't return, but allow me to explain. My husband and I came here for the first time to try it out and we got seated right away with some bread rolls and butter. The rolls were soft fresh and buttery and the butter was delicious with a hint of cinnamon. My husband ordered a strawberry lemonade that was great as well. We ordered all of our food fast and together the appetizer and our entrees. Our appetizer came after a good while of waiting I'd say a good 20 minutes. We ordered the combo with potato wedges, chicken, and jalapeño poppers. The wedges were bland if not for the cheese and bacon, the chicken was good, and the poppers were a burst of spiciness. After about 5 minutes after that I got a side from my entree. I was a bit confused as my entree didn't come with it but I just went with it. The chili was good but served to me lukewarm, no steam was coming from it at all like it had been sitting for a long while. After a good 15 minutes our entrees came out. At this point we were kinda full almost finishing our appetizer and chili with how long it took to come out. My entree was the 8 Oz Sirloin and ribs with mashed potatoes and (chili but it was served way to early) and my husband got the 8 Oz sirloin with baked potato and corn. The steaks were missing flavor, it was cooked well and medium like we asked just a bit flavorless so we had to accompany it with a1 sauce and salt. Mash potatoes were good but lumpy and at the start I ended up eating a glob of butter that was hidden underneath my cheese. The ribs were disappointing and the bbq sauce contributed most of its flavor although it was overpowered by the burnt edges of it. The shrimps were excellent and juicy and the baked potato was overloaded and flowing with butter onto the plate. Overall presentation could have been a bit better. Aside from that the manager came by a couple times to our table to check on us and our server Brendon was nice. There was lots of yelling because of someone's birthday in the back, food underneath our table that we accidently stepped on a few times as well as a table near us picking their teeth and another table chewing with her mouth open. Perhaps the other things on the menu were good but this place...
Read moreThe restaurant was very busy so I knew that there would be some delays in getting food, etc. We got the appetizer in about 15 minutes which I thought was a reasonable amount of time with it being busy. 15 minutes later we got our salads. 30 minutes after that, we asked when our meals were going to be brought out since it was an hour since we had ordered. Our order was 3 prime ribs, 1 ribeye and all had baked potatoes and a kids steak bites with broccoli. 2 tables that arrived long after we had gotten our appetizers received their salads and meals by this time. In fact, one of them had finished and was simply waiting for their check. The prime rib was already cooked and only needed to be sliced. The ribeye should have taken about 10 minutes. Normally the baked potatoes are pre-made also. The waitress (Karren) kept apologizing to us and was checking with the kitchen so she could get our meal out as soon as the kitchen released it. When we finally got our meal, the steak bites were so overcooked that you couldn't even cut into them. The prime ribs and the ribeye were so cold that a film had formed over them. The only thing that weren't cold were the rolls and the baked potatoes. Apparently the meals sat under the lamps until they made the baked potatoes. The waitress went to get the manager for us and came back with a receipt for the drinks and some coupons. The manager didn't even bother to come to our table. We paid for the drinks, tipped our server Karren because her service was excellent and walked out without eating the ice cold meals. It was incredibly...
Read moreVery disappointed with the hostess stand girls. We were on vacation and decided to go here to celebrate our sons upcoming birthday and first day of high school. We arrived with no reservations, so we understood we'd have a wait. We were told 35-45 minutes, ok! No problem, my husband and son went over and got a few things from the store across the street while I waited on a bench directly across from the hostess stand (DIRECTLY ACROSS). After 20-25 minutes or so, went up and asked how much longer the wait was so I could tell my husband and son when to come back. The hostess said you have another 8-18 minutes, again, ok, no problem. My husband and son come back, thinking ok we have another 5-10 minutes wait... nope 25 more minutes go by, my husband goes up asked how much longer.... she said... oh we paged you 8 minutes ago, 8 MINUTES AGO!! I said I didn't get a text, she then says oh well sometimes we put the numbers In wrong, I'm completely dumbfounded at this point, thinking I'm literally 8 feet in front of you , you've looked at me several times.... why? Why wouldn't they say something if I obviously wasn't responding to any type of text?? I sat there for over an hour... waitress was the saving grace, she was wonderful!! Very knowledgeable very kind, food was great, didn't even bothering telling them we were there for a birthday was so disappointed with the whole first encounter. Better training maybe for the...
