The Garlic Pit had a small, authentic Italian restaurant feel to me. I enjoyed the easy, rustic Italian decor. We came in with a party of 7 with reservation during the middle of the week. Even with the reservations, we still needed to wait for about 5 minutes to be seated in a very small waiting area that was already a bit full. After sitting, we waited for about 30 mins before our drink orders came out. We waited more before the bread came out. But, it was soft and fresh and paired with a homemade garlic butter with chunks of actual garlic that could knock your socks off, in a pretty good way. I told my boyfriend that it was a good thing we were done "making out" for the day. The appetizers were good...we tried the mozzarella sticks and pizza rolls which were hot and extra crispy. We enjoyed the family style salads that came with most of our meals. The oil and vinegar dressing reminded me of how my grandparents used to dress salad. Onto the main dish, again it took quite a while before everything was out. I tried the chicken riggies special which was done pretty well. The sauce was decent, but not the best I've ever had. The portion was large with there being enough leftover for a hearty lunch the next day. My boyfriend loved his enormous portion of chicken parm. He left me try a bite and it was light and crispy without being greasy and had nice flavor. Most of the rest of the party wasn't super happy though. The chicken French was reported to be lacking flavor and overly sauced. And one person was given an incorrect order and said that the fixed order was partially cold. I would say that the waitress was very nice and did help to get coupons from an Entertainment book honored, which was appreciated. In the end, my boyfriend and I would return someday for a date...but we would need to go on a relaxed weekend where we didn't need to be anywhere afterwards, due to the slow service. We would both probably get the salad and chicken parm, since it was a clear winner. The prices were great, which is also a plus for us. The rest of the party said they will never go back though.

Another nice little find while I was out picking up food on 3/9. The lady behind the counter was very pleasant. Because of covid (like many other restaurants), it has made them do only take out or delivery. From what i gathered, they may go back to dine in option later in the year. Itried the soup of the day, which was a Chicken French Onion Soup. I love French Onion Soup, so I was very intrigued by this. I loved it to say the least. I am not a fan of Chicken French usually, but this was very nice. Excellent flavor and I'm sad I didn't get a bigger size 😢. I would come back and try something else here.

Shout out to The Garlic Pit Pasta House that put on a Phenomenal Spread today . They stayed for the party and helped out every step of the way. The food was outstanding and the desserts OMG. PS Props to the Mom. Her Charcuterie table was amazing! She thought of many things that we didn’t. They were extremely helpful with all the planning of what needed to be done. It was overwhelming for us and Tonia was right on point and happy to help with the process. Great food starts here.

I was born and raised in Rochester and graduated from Pittsford Sutherland HS and attended the U of R. I relocated to Florida in 1994 and have lived there ever since. Aside from the Olive Gardens and Buca di Beppas of the world, we have very little to choose from in authentic Italian cuisine unless you go over to the west coast of FL.

I'm back visiting for a while and my friend told me about the Garlic Pit. Looking at their menu, I personally ordered the sausage and peppers and the Angry Shrimp for both of my entrees. I got fried Ravioli and the pork cutlets too.

I must say that everything has been absolutely delicious! Hands down, my favourite was the Angry Shrimp. The pasta, peppers, sausage and shrimp immersed in the sauce took my palate on a rollercoaster ride of taste. It's been far too long since I could actually say that I've had really GOOD Italian food. This was extra special and the portions are plentiful enough that I'll be enjoying it tomorrow as well.

I want to sit here and continue to gush about it, but all I can offer up is the suggestion to visit for yourself. It's take out only, but it's worth it for the freshness and the preparation of such good dining. Excuse me while I try to put down my Lemon Mascarpone. I'm...

I was picking up take out and happily waited the few extra minutes they said it would be. It was much longer which would have been perfectly fine if I had not witnessed the workers having issues with basic tasks but then a delivery driver came in. The driver was a female... polite and just trying to do her job. The female owner was terribly flustered about everything then the male owner came up front and berated this driver and was so degrading and rude to this woman. I think a dessert was missing and driver brought it to their attention. They did not like that. Then. A child - yes a minor child with no gloves etc - is to get dessert but isn't trained and struggling. I understand instilling work ethic but isn't that not allowed. Anyway I'm never going back due to the way I saw paying customer treated badly. And honestly the food is very average. Nothing special. Go to ER for nice Italian this is amateur with...
