My Sister, Daughter and myself were just finishing our shopping trip at Target in Webster. We had went to 3 stores prior, and planned Target for last because of Starbucks! We love our Starbucks usually. My Sister who is very much like my Mother, was using the bathroom while I ordered our coffees. The young woman who took our order was very personable and pleasant. My sister joined us shortly after, and they were just putting up her coffee on the collect bar. I have ordered her coffee wrong in the past, so she joked before going to the bathroom, “Make sure you get the right one!” So when her coffee was placed on the counter, I noticed crunch pieces on top. So I looked at her because I thought I messed something up. All hell broke loose shortly after. The MANAGER, turns around and goes, “ that’s what the Caramel Crunch coffee is, is something wrong?” Very snooty. No one said anything to her, I was looking at my sister to make sure I didn’t get her coffee wrong, AGAIN. So as my sister said something to me, with our backs to her because we were going to leave, the Manager said, “excuse me, what did you say?!” We were stunned. Especially being out in Webster. My sisters blood sugar was already low, she has diabetes, and my 16 year old daughter was right there (watching her Mother and Aunt be disrespected) and I calmly told the Manager, “no one was actually talking to you, I was actually making sure my sisters coffee was correct”. She then proceeds to say, how she is the manager, and asked if there was a problem. She stated that she was making sure everything was okay. I then said, “if you are the manager, why are you adding aggression? I truly was t talking to you”. She literally kept going! I was stunned! As the line filled up with more people, and store visitors and employees all looked over at the commotion. My daughter was sent outside, because she started speaking disrespectfully and two wrongs don’t make a right. I then walked outside because this Manager just continued adding on to the mess. My sister waited there for my coffee. My sister grabbed her hand and calmly told her, she is in customer service and she should have handled this very differently, especially being a manager. I understand people have bad days, and I hope her day gets better. But she unfortunately was not taught in her Starbucks training, how to de-escalate a situation. Not that my $21.00 makes a difference, but I will never go back into this Starbucks and possibly this Target, ever again....
