Another day of medical appointments brought us in the vicinity of Christie's Restaurant during the lunch hour today. We were seated without hesitation, but soon every table and booth would be full, and there would be standing-room-only around the hostess station.

We're "regulars" so we were able to give our orders immediately when Mary came to our table.

My guy started with a cup of beef soup with Italian pasta, a real delight. Liver and onions doesn't appeal to me, but my dining companion orders it when it's available, and at Christie's it's always on the menu. It came with mashed potatoes and gravy, a side of broccoli and a pile of sautéed onions smothered the meat. He relished every bite and cheerfully joined the Clean Plate Club.

I enjoyed a Roast Beef on a lightly grilled, super fresh-baked Kimmelweck roll, covered in caraway seed and crunchy salt. The beef was savory, tender and stacked high, with a side of pungent horseradish. The French fries were hot, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Just perfect!

We ordered the Diana's Chopped Salad to go, a treat to be savored with tonight's supper at home. This is our favorite salad, overflowing with chopped romaine, slivered almonds, diced red onion, crumbled blue cheese, mandarin orange segments, craisins, grilled chicken strips, with a generous portion of Riveria dressing. Two crisps of cinnamon sugared fried pita crisps top off this "dessert salad.

Diners around us were ordering off the impressive breakfast menu. Lots of happy...

We went here for Sunday brunch and had a great time. West Seneca isn't usually my area to go for food but this diner was up to my standard for sure. Food was great while still being affordable, server was friendly, but the atmosphere was lacking a bit if that matters to you.

We ordered both breakfast entrees. The more exciting part of the meal was the home fries which you can get them "all the way" meaning they'll add onion, peppers, cheese, and gravy. It was amazing. The bacon was crispy. The bread was thick and pre-buttered. The poached eggs were slightly overcooked but still somewhat runny and they dont charge extra for poaching unlike some other place (Sophia's). The pancakes were on the darker side but our server assured us they could be remade if it was too overcooked.

The service was great. Our waitress was so friendly and mood-uplifting. The food came out in a reasonable time. We had all the condiments we needed. The coffee refill came before we were even empty.

The atmosphere does not have that homey diner feel. It has more of a hotel/corporate feel to it. It might be because the space is also used as a banquet hall? In my opinion, this doesn't hurt my overall score of the place. The vibe is fine for me.

Overall great experience. Highly recommend to someone who is looking to try...

I went in there after my procedure that I had done and I was very disappointed. Ask for a booth so I would be ok sitting just in case I fell off the chair from being put under. We were met with attitude from the host cause she had to wipe a booth down. Place looked like a bomb went off almost every table was dirty. Again not a great first impression! Waitress came over took our drink and food order and asked me if I wanted my corn beef hash crispy I said yes my partner ordered crispy bacon too. When we got our plates the corn beef hash was Luke warm and there was no crispy to it and the bacon was soggy. I showed the waitress and she took my plate when it came back it was burnt tasted burnt and so did the potatoes were very burnt. The cooks there need a cooking lesson to tell crispy from burnt. I would not recommend this place even if you paid for my meal. No thanks there are plenty other breakfast places around that treat people nice and cook the food the way it gets ordered and not burn the food in spite from a order...
