We have been here a couple of times and its been OK. Tonight the not one of those occasions. The place wasn't crowded. There was a table of 2 woman, a group of families who sons play baseball for MW, some people around the bar and my wife and myself. Not a lot of people . We ordered our food and drink. One of their burgers and a cornbeef that was on their specials. Our waiter brought our drinks and then we saw him once when he ask if I wanted another beer. During this time, a very drunk guy was on his phone and talking so loud that everyone heard him. He also decided to play dart and tried to enlist people to play him. The drunk was the best part of the place as he was the entertainment. After 30 minutes+ no food, our waiter is busy either bringing glasses to and from the back or trying to sort out the order for the 6 top that the kitchen got wrong that the manager/owner(woman) gave to them. I had enough and got up and told the manager and the waiter who were both at the bar that we are leaving and I will pay for my beer. The response was I believe that its ready now. Then the woman goes sorry about the wait but I have two new guys in the back. The "B" team. You know its only Tuesday. I hope you come back when the "A" team is here. So there were 2 guys in the back and they couldn't put get the orders correct and put out more than 6 plates of food in 30+ minutes. The waiter made no attempt to explain the situation while we were sitting at the table. I’ve been going to A Better Place for a couple years and it’s time I post a review. It’s really hard to find a great restaurant in Orange County NY. They exist but your success ratio might be 20% if you start giving places a try. When I moved back here two years ago i gave A Better Place a try and was instantly impressed. Truthfully, I was looking for craft beer and they had a great list on beer menus. They have a full bar and a roasting selection of great beers. They have IPAs and Amehrican mass produced and they also have stouts porters ciders and sometimes other fun options.

They do comfort food really well. BBQ, burgers, quesadillas and nachos are all outstanding. The Cowboy Fries are tremendous but I rarely get them because they have to be artery cloggers. This is the best place for wings in ten miles. Check the specials board before ordering. The chefs are creative and the specials deliver. If there’s a fried chicken sandwich on the board just get it and know you’ll be pleased.

For god sake if you’re reading this review and you’re visiting Woodbury Commons go here when you leave. Don’t waste your money on the food at the commons. Make a right out the commons and it’s about a mile down on your right in a small strip mall.

My husband and I went yesterday and had an awesome lunch! Buffalo wings are the best we have found in the area so far. My husband had the Schwind Burger and loved it. I built my own chicken sandwich and it was wonderful. Great place to just have a beer and a great lunch. Fresh and homemade french fries is always a perfect touch! Also something else that they do is salads, and you can get a full size or a half size, and I always love places that give you that option! Nice and quiet, but can get quite busy! Will definitely be there again, and soon!

I saw the most recent review that mentions the credit card fee, and in response gave this great bar and grill a one star. I have to publicly say that I find that disgusting. The added interest you pay to use a credit card is not something new, and is EXTREMELY common in our area, Orange County NY, and basically i'm saying you must not be from around here. Bottom line, if you can't afford to pay an extra 3 percent tax or whatever it was, pay in cash, or don't go out to eat. It's not the restaurant's fault that the credit card companies are out of control with their fee's and interest rates. So don't take it out on them with a one start public rating that people will see and potentially curb their business.
