The Woodbury Diner — Restaurant in Town of Woodbury

I was in town visiting a friend and he brought me to Woodbury diner and I did NOT have a good experience. We came late in the afternoon so the place was not very busy so we figured it would be a quick lunch. We were greeted and sat very quickly and after 15 minutes we placed our orders. I ordered the blackened fish tacos and my friend ordered a Reuben. He really enjoyed his sandwich but I was confused by my food because I had ordered blackened fish tacos with extra blackening seasoning and when the food came out I received three fried fish tacos instead. Since fried food tends to upset my stomach and we had a long drive ahead of us the same day I decided to send it back but it was almost 15 minutes before our server even came back to check on us and by that time my friend was already finished with his food. When she did finally come back I advised her of the issue and she looked at me like I was crazy and told me those were the only fish tacos they had. When I explained the difference between blackened fish and fried she only seemed confused and said she would talk to the manager. Since my friend was finished eating and we had already been there over an hour I told her to just take the item off the bill but she insisted it would only take a few more minutes to have the kitchen remake the tacos the way I wanted. After almost 15 minutes of additional waiting for the remake food she popped her head out of the kitchen door and said the food would be out in just 2 minutes but after an additional 10 minutes of waiting I was so irritated I just wanted to leave so I walked to the front and asked the manager for the check so that I could pay and leave without eating. As I was paying for my friend's sandwich the server finally came out of the kitchen with my food but by that time I had lost my appetite and just...

Since the new owners have taken ownership of the restaurant, the place seems less friendly. Today my husband and I went for an early breakfast and inside the establishment there were only about 2 tables with customers at them and one person at the counter. We ordered standard breakfasts from the menu, no special requests, nothing like that. It took almost 20 minutes to be served. Both of our breakfasts came to us like warm. While my husband ate his, I did not because I prefer my food hot and so I wrapped it all up to take home. When the waitress asked how everything was, I expressed to her just what I said here. She said she would tell the “boss”. Well, he never came over to us to apologize or say anything to us at all. When we went up to pay, he just took the bill and my husbands money and began to ring us up. I waited to see if he would say something. Never did, until I said “did the waitress tell you that my food was not warm and I did not eat it because I prefer hot food?” He simply said “I’m sorry”. Never offered to recompense me in any way and did not seem genuine at all. He had absolutely no affect at all….like a robot. Will not go there again. A little goes a long way with me, and he blew it. Probably been here before, just not in a while, and before i started writing reviews. actually used to prefer monroe diner over this one, but i believe this was before this restaurant was renovated. Went here recently (Today) on Saturday January 13th 2024 with my dad after getting his truck inspected. There was plenty of parking, as it has a pretty big parking lot. Entered the building, and someone sat us at a booth for 2 people. Glad to be seated right away. Place also was spacious and clean. We started with 2 waters, then our waitress came over and took our orders. We started with 2 coffees. She came back with the coffees, and took our orders: I ordered the brownie smores pancakes, and my dad ordered blueberry pancakes. before you know it, our food was ready! Glad to see that for the blueberry pancakes, the blueberries were inside the pancakes! Now i know next time i can order those! The brownie smores pancakes were very good, and tasted like brownies. The topping marshmallows can be a little sticky, but it was delicious! I'm glad that i decided to come here! our waitress should have checked on us a bit more, i think, but it's all good! Got the check, paid with cash, left a cash tip, and will hopefully will be back soon...
