Little Pigs Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Travelers Rest

I didn’t expect much from a shopping strip bbq joint but what a sweet, sweet surprise!! I ordered a bbq sandwich plate with baked beans and hush puppies. First, I loved the sandwich and they offer 2 different sauces. The “hot” wasn’t super hot but had a nice heat. The meat was tender and tasted very fresh. (I’m from TX and bbq is kind of a big deal to us Texans). The baked beans were really good with the perfect amount of sweetness, but not too overbearing. I wasn’t a fan of the hush puppies, but it’s just my personal preference. They were fried perfectly and weren’t greasy at all, so I’ll still give them a good rating. The sweet tea was EXACTLY what sweet tea should be in the south - sweet!! So perfectly done!

The location is clean, the tables were clean, and the lady who took our order and brought the food out was super sweet.

Overall, a great lunch! I would love to see some smoked sausage on the menu, but that’s just me...

It made me put atleast one star, but if I could have put less, I would probably put -67. I went in and was not greeted AT ALL. There was a woman in the back and she was on her phone and didint even acknowledge me. When she finally did, she acted like it was the end of the world that she had to put her phone down and come serve me. While she was taking my order she kept saying “is that it” with an attitude after everything I said. Once I finished ordering, I had asked her about the cup for my drink and she proceeded to throw it on the counter. I got my drink and sat to wait on my food. The lady said with an extreme attitude “dont sit there” . I got my food and was missing three things and when I asked her for them she said “not my problem”. This behavior is VERY uncalled for and unacceptable. I will NEVER come back and I hope whoever sees this tells their emplyee to do better. Have a blessed day!...

This is most definitely the definition of a "hole in the wall" establishment. The BBQ here is downhome style. You won't get the prettiest plating, nor the fanciest looking food, but the taste--yum.

The ribs looked dark, and kind of charred--but the taste and the smokiness made for some very tender, tasty meat. Many BBQs will serve the ribs luke-warm, and that is a pet peeve of mine. This place serves the ribs HOT! Ask for the rib sauce!

Chopped pork is tender and smokey. Fried okra was fried perfectly in a light, but tasty batter. Hush puppies were as expected. Mac and cheese had enough flavor to be passable, but not over the top.

Don't you dare skip the banana puddin'! Get a pint and share it. You will NOT be sorry. The texture is creamy with just enough banana flavor. Wafers are in the right proportion.

Cost will not break the bank here, but the value to be had is...
