Pink Mama's Ice Cream Shop Travelers Rest — Restaurant in Travelers Rest

Although I do have 2 complaints, I am giving Pink Mama's ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because my complaints are more a matter of my own preference. I've been in the food industry for a long time and there are 2 things I've known to be true; if a restaurant can't make a good burger the rest of their food will probably suck, too. The other is with ice cream parlors.. if they can't make a good shake the rest probably sucks, too. Pink Mama's absolutely NAILED the shake! Perfect consistency and flavor. They also gave me a cup of whipped cream because I didn't want to give my pup anything super heavy. The atmosphere is welcoming and the location is easy to find! I do third party deliveries and come through TR often so I will be back when I get the hankerin'!

Now for the 2 complaints. Again, purely preference..

1. The chocolate chips in the mint chip were a bit big and hurt my teeth. The shake was still delicious and I will probably order it again.

2. I, personally, wouldn't respond to the haters in the reviews. Its best to learn you just cant please some people and move on. Yes, I get you are defending yiur business but the passive aggressive responses are offputting. Your time is better spent building a positive reputation with the community by thanking the positive reviews and tending to the actual complaints.

I was expecting more from pink mama. I thought their ice cream were homemade but they were just Herseys. I got the salted caramel Hersey ice cream and most of the ice cream on my cone was chocolate BARS. So I was just eating solid chocolate. The waffle cone also leaks ALOT. Bruster’s ice cream is definitely better imo. Also, customer service was LACKING. The workers didn’t smile and were using their EarPods while working.

Update: got a reply from the owner. Me being a local guide means me being honest on my opinion on the places I visit. I intentionally drove more than an hour to visit your store because it was on my wishlist. While on the store, your workers have not provided me with your “homemade” flavors which is why I didn’t know about them until you replied to this review. This is one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. I ordered a frozen chocolate banana and watched as the girl behind the counter turned her back to me and picked away at a napkin that was stuck to the banana. When I said something about not wanting it if it had napkin stuck to it the cashier insisted it would be fine. I tried eating it but the banana was bitter and still had bits of napkin in it. I politely asked if I could maybe exchange it for a popsicle and the girl behind the counter went to ask and came back to tell me no that I would have to pay for it. She was apologetic and the other worker defensively told her not to apologize. My husband’s ice cream was over half just frozen peanut butter so he didn’t eat all of his either.
