Order ordeal. I called in for a take out order on Saturday, January the 2nd. I arrived to the place and the very first issue I noticed is that there was a line at the entrance for the “take outs” and only one hostess inside trying to take care of the to-go orders and seating costumers at the same time. There was no organization between the two groups, and the take out costumers in line had to wait in between dine in costumers popping up to be taking care off. It took me 15-20 minutes to get my food. When, I gave them my card, they have to go all the way to the kitchen because, guess what, they only have one credit card terminal, and it’s located right in the kitchen entrance. Where, waiters are charging fine in costumers, and the food is coming out to the tables. You can imagine the bottleneck this scenario I’m trying to recreate was making. I drove back home, and guess what? The order was incomplete. They forgot one salad and one entry. I called them back and I spoke to the manager. He asked me to comeback, and the entree was going to be ready. So, I got into my car and drove back... They gave me the missing salad, and the manager apologized... And I waited for about 10 more minutes for the entree. I guess the hostess was curious and asked me what I was waiting for: “The poke bowl, of course”! She had the poke bowl in the counter the whole time!! The manager/owner didn’t even see it.
Now, I had been a regular until the pandemic changed the ball game. I haven’t been on the place since March.
The personnel is kind and the food is great.
But, two trips, and one hour and thirty minutes from the moment I placed the order to the moment I finally seat down and ate dinner with my wife is way...
Read moreWhen I walked in with my family, I was told to seat myself. However, all the large booths were taken by parties of two. Small tables were the only option left. I felt they were too small to eat comfortably with small children. I asked the host if he would let us know when a booth came available because we would need more space if possible. He ignored my request completely. It took a while before we were greeted. Our waitress was a blonde girl, glasses. She had no personality and seemed downright COLD. It was literally impossible to get a refill. The waiters and waitress were literally standing talking or with their hands on their hips instead of checking on us. She literally never checked on us. I had to walk up to the front to get what I needed, like a refill or utensils. Appetizer plates were greasy and appeared dirty. Food was very good, cooked and seasoned well...great portions. Unfortunately the service was terrible and I would not return solely based on that. The host specifically chose a table to give drink refills to and bypassed my table. The male waiter stood staring at us with empty drinks but would never ask or bring more. I’m not sure what the deal was. Also on the way out the host guy stood at the entrance of the kitchen, staring and talking to his buddies and never said a word, not have a good night...how was your food or service...nothing. WORST service I’ve ever experienced. This place won’t last with that kind of service and it’s SAD...bc the cooks are amazing!!! I would not recommend dining in here ever! Get your food to go and be...
Read moreWe celebrated our daughter’s 6th birthday dinner at Sushi Yama, and it was an experience we'll never forget! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and went out of their way to make the evening special.
The food was outstanding! We started with some crispy potstickers that were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The sushi rolls were incredible – the Volcano Roll, Furman Roll, Paris Mountain Roll, and Spicy Tuna Rolls, were all packed with fresh ingredients and skillfully prepared. The Spider Roll and Boston Roll were also amazing. The kids really enjoyed the Chicken Fried Rice, and it was clear that everyone felt at home.
We definitely wished we had ordered more of the Furman Roll and Volcano Roll, as they were absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh and perfect for all the rolls – you could taste the quality in every bite.
To make the night even more memorable, the restaurant brought out a delicious fried cheesecake for our birthday girl, which made her feel so special. When our 1-year-old daughter was getting a little upset, they kindly suggested an edamame appetizer to keep her happy, which was a thoughtful touch. It made all of the difference!
The staff was so accommodating, and all of the children felt right at home, creating such a warm and inviting atmosphere. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate our daughter’s big day.
Sushi Yama has earned our loyalty, and we’ll definitely be back. If you’re looking for a fantastic dining experience with exceptional service, this...
