After a perfect day soaking up the sun on one of Upper Michigan's beautiful beaches, my family and I stumbled upon what turned out to be the ideal way to cap off our adventure – Bardon's Wonder Freeze. What a delightful surprise this little ice cream stand turned out to be!
In a world where it seems like every food establishment is charging premium prices for mediocre quality, Bardon's Wonder Freeze stands as a refreshing exception.
The serving sizes were genuinely generous. No skimpy scoops here – they pile it on with the kind of old-fashioned generosity that's becoming increasingly rare. The kids were thrilled, and honestly, so were the adults. :-)
The prices were also incredibly reasonable. At a time when a simple ice cream cone elsewhere might cost you $8 or more for a disappointingly small portion, Bardon's Wonder Freeze proves that you can still get excellent value for your money.
The variety of flavors was impressive, and each scoop delivered on taste. Personally, I went for the Brownie Sundae with hot fudge. VERY yummy!!
The combination of delicious flavors, generous portions, and fair pricing made this a memorable family experience that perfectly complemented our beach day. If you find yourself in Upper Michigan and need a sweet treat, don't miss Bardon's Wonder Freeze. It's truly...
Read moreWe are from out of town, but have family in town. It was a tradition every summer growing up to go from the beach to get ice cream here. Of course now that I'm an adult I had to continue the tradition with my husband and two kids. I hate how it has gotten built up around it and the parking lot is now so tiny. But even with a crowd, they were fast and the line moved quickly. The prices are phenomenal, service is great, and ice cream is SO GOOD. I had never had soft serve cotton candy ice cream before and now I wish I could find it elsewhere! So good! My husband had the cherry hubilee(?) and it was some of the best ice cream. It may be the nostalgia talking, but this is definitely one of the best ice cream shops! Their seating area is nice and...
Read moreLast night My husband and I drove 20 miles to Bardon’s with our 2 dogs and son. It said on google they were closing at 10:00 but they closed suddenly at 9:42. We suspected the employees didn’t feel like working anymore for the day. They said they could have still served us if we chose soft serve, which we were happy to do, but once they saw more people arriving behind us (before 10 pm) they changed their mind and told us they actually “already shut all of their machines off”. Not great service or a good impression for us or the 10+ others who pulled up after us - especially while trying to support a cool local spot….You guys let a 9 year old boy down and plenty of other...
