Grand Traverse County Civic Center — Attraction in Traverse City

Beautiful park, not very well marked. The direction board was confusing for me. Some days that's easy to do!

Fantastic looking skate park for kids... I thought. I am not a skater, skateboard rider, or bike on the regular. I think for younger kids, probably 4- 14ish.

Google maps lead us here looking for the bicycle rentals, then told us to go down another road inside the park. Found a couple of businesses closed for the day, and we never found the bike place. I'm sure it was our fault, but frustrating none the less. also important ** We did notice some creepy looking men over kinda tucked into the corners of 2 of the parking lots... idk their story. Maybe they live in their vehicles and are allowed to park there overnight or something. I honestly have no idea, it just creeped me out. Disclaimer: I am in the "stranger danger" generation! My views in these situations tend to lean on those beliefs pounded into my young, impressionable mind growing up. I do not mean to insult anyone who doesn't deserve...

Went to check out the gym while we are in town. I'm sure my wife who loves running on the treadmill will love this place! The treadmills are all pointing at the cinder block wall. What a great view! The tvs are up over your head so it's just so inspiring to run looking at the wall. Maybe that is where the plugs are I'm not sure but any other direction seems better. They had some free weights. No music. No gym machines for legs or abs or arms or anything that says do this and get that muscle to go. Then I went to check out the pool. Walking down the hall I nearly passed out it was like trying to walk through Sephora or the airport perfume shops they strategically put in the way. So much chlorine smell I just couldn't do it. I think the place is closed up all winter brewing in chlorine. Let's not even get into the sign up fees. It's a tourist town they are not pricing to attract tourist. I found a...

We go here several times a week. We love coming here they have a great party for the little ones and a very nice trail and skate park. But in all honesty the Civic center needs an expansion. An outdoor pool or aquatic center for summers (not everyone likes swimming in the lake or indoors all the time) maybe some TRX stations along the trail or some sort of workout stations and maybe some gazebos or being your own bags built in Cornhole stations or pickle ball courts or volleyball nets or an outdoor roller hockey rink!
