Le Bistro Montage Ala Cart — Restaurant in Troutdale

This is an addendum to my previous review of Montage at Troutdale Station. (It follows this update). I tried their Mac & Cheese; both spicy Cajun & pesto garlic. They’re both outta sight. It’s so f-ing good 🤤 😋!!! I couldn’t tell you which is better, but there’re lots of other styles to choose from. If you think all Mac & Cheese is the same, you’re mistaken. The main chef who at Troutdale Station Montage is Drew & he takes everything it to a whole other level. Drew makes it pure joy to visit his cart. A+++++.

Montage is my favorite cart at Troutdale Station. Their chef makes THE BEST jambalaya I've ever tasted. The spices are perfection & I've tried all proteins offered including gator. Their Po' Boys are also the best (particularly with shrimp &/or andouille). I'm also impressed with the personal friendliness of the girl who does most of the cooking & the guy who preps & takes most of the orders. They really make me feel at home. So I HIGHLY RECOMMEND to go specifically to Troutdale Station & give Montage a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised. My expectations were pretty low being at a food cart pod on the East side but I was quickly humbled as this pasta was absolute fire. Years ago, we went to the brick and mortar when it was under the bridge and it was pretty sub-par. At the cart, I ordered the Spold (Spicy old) with broccoli and it was perfectly cheesy & creamy. The broccoli is tossed in the pasta and cooked al dente, which added a nice textural difference from the pasta. I wish it had a little kick to it as it wasn’t spicy but it was so well seasoned it didn’t really matter. Montage is hands down one of the best food trucks I’ve ever tried! I stopped by for their Po’boy Shrimp Sandwich, and it was absolutely incredible. The shrimp were perfectly crispy, seasoned to perfection, and piled high on a soft, buttery roll. The sauce added just the right amount of tangy, creamy goodness, tying everything together beautifully.

Even though they specialize in mac & cheese, this sandwich proves they know their way around comfort food in all forms.
