Lucky Start — Restaurant in Troutdale

Food is good, HOWEVER I ordered the green bean chicken & chicken lo mein (I figured I had lunch for tomorrow too!)...asked for extra sauce but they charged me $2.50 for mixed vegetables...?! What I asked for was NO onions & NO celery, could they give me a little more carrots or broccoli...she said, "so you want just chicken, noodle?"...I said NO, repeated my request & I verified that the bean sprouts were OK too. I was NOT looking for an extra portion (except sauce, but if they made mine a little soupy NO issues) but I figured, I'm traveling through town for work, let's see what happens...I got my food back to my motel room, my container had NO onion & NO celery (thank you) HOWEVER, there was NO sauce, food was DRY, & the green bean chicken did NOT have the fried rice I asked for...we even discussed which one they had left as I was there 30min b4 closing. Really sucked not having a great experience here becuz I thought the idea of a food truck is you could have a cordial conversation about food with other foodies... I cannot recommend this restaurant/food truck to anyone who needs or requests ANYTHING other than the menu...

I've been here three different times. First time it was a good experience, big portion, and the food was not great but good. Second time they switched from the great paper containers to foam containers and the portion was a little smaller. Overall not good. The third time however, they switched to a tiny plastic containers with two compartments and the portion much smaller even. On top now they charge $2.08 additional for the choice of noodles instead of rice. So about $17.00 dollars for a meal that after I was done I was still hungry. I've told them personally that I will not be back. I just don't see the value in it. So, Lucky Start you did good at the Start but, if you've noticed that lately you're business is slow, it will get much slower if you don't get back to that first Start. Good Lucky. I will not...

Overall tasty good looking large portions of food, just not very healthy. Ordered a bean and chicken dish ($18) which was large portion sizes and good looking vegetables, tasted great but you could tell a lot of added ingredients to help thicken and taste better. Not a fresh taste, but still tasted good. I dont know if the use msg but I’m guessing so, but could be wrong . High sodium, high calorie yes. Service was friendly and fast with ok prices. The food cart court is great. But honestly I wish this chinese food was cooked with more care and better ingredients / cleaner. 50/50...
