The Good Burger Shack — Restaurant in Troutdale

Man, there's lots of things super amazing about this place! Gimme a minute while I try and list at least a couple:

This was my first time here, so as a descendent of Chicagoans, I told Simmin(hope I spelled it right) and Daryl(the Master) I had to see if they're Chicago dog was worth it. And let me say, the first thing that hit me about these guys is how genuine, honest, and humble both these guys are! I'm sittin over here looking like a tough customer at first, and Daryl's just so chill he just starts talking about

1. they get the bun made locally, no preservatives
2. they cut the side fries themselves right there in the truck
3. in Daryl's words, they try for a 90% match to a Chicago dog: all the ingredients are right(I agree, it was awesome), but it would cost way too much to ship the exact same Vienna dogs across the country, and I guess it's just really hard to get that stuff out here. Someone should start making them locally or something. Ok where was I... oh yeah so then I get this dog, and I open it up, and it's REALLY amazing! Also these fries they have, I sent a picture to my mom who is an excellent cook herself, and her first comment is "Are those Chicago fries? Bring some home!" K this is a long review, but I just wanted to give these guys some love, this place is amazing!

Now that I've said all that great stuff, I can say, EVEN IF I had thought the food wasn't good, I would still give these guys an amazing review, because they answer all your tough questions honestly, are really nice, and want to give you the best food possible! Go get yourself some grub from the Good(Best)...

My wife and I stopped in at Troutdale Station with our dog for the first time and didn’t leave disappointed.

I overheard the proprietor of the Good Burger Shack describing the huckleberry chicken sandwich and decided to give it a try. It was as amazing as his description. He makes the huckleberry bbq sauce on site and it’s the perfect mix of sweet and hot that can be hard to nail but it was spot on. The sandwich is served on a brioche bun with a grilled chicken breast, your choice of cheese, shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, jalapeño if you like and the heaven sent huckleberry bbq sauce tops it off. A side of fries made it even more deliciously perfect. I’ll definitely be back for another. The location is great too. Right down the street from the Troutdale airport and the outlet mall off the 84.

First off, props to The Good Burger Shack for speed—my order was out in no time, which is always appreciated when you’re running low on fuel. The fries came seasoned just right, with a nice kick of flavor, though they could’ve used a touch more time in the fryer to hit that perfect crisp. I went with the Bacon Cheeseburger, and while it arrived well done, it still managed to stay impressively juicy. The bacon added a satisfying crunch, and the overall build was clean and balanced. That said, the patty itself could benefit from a bit more seasoning to really bring out the beef’s character. Overall, it’s a solid spot with fast service and good fundamentals.
