These kind of reviews are the ones I hate to write about because when I have found a true gem that few know about I want to hide it away selfishlly for myself but inside I know it needs to be shared.
I have been looking for a good Asian restaurant / take out place north of I-70 for quite some time now . I finally found it. Their menu states that the name J's is after the owners Wen and Yanging Hsiang's three children Joyce, Joling and Juliya. It goes on to say that the purpose of this restaurant is to show the unconditional, sacrificial love parents give to their children and to spread hope for others to experience this worthy kind of love as well. This sediment shines through at J's.
It is a just a bit off the beaten track. I don’t think you would find this small unassuming restaurant unless you were looking for this place. It is to the right of Wal-Mart. In the parking lot behind Bob Evans and tucked in the back. In My opinion it only adds to the appeal.
I have to admit I have not dined in. The dining area is small and cozy and from what I can see from the 4 seat waiting area kept up and clean. I only saw a pop machine so I don’t think they sell beer or liquor. Someone else will have to vouch for that. You just walk right in for a table or to order carryout. I have never waited more than 15 minutes when I ordered at the desk. Call ahead for no wait at all.
It has your typical take out menu egg roll, spring roll, appetizers Cashew Chicken, Happy Family ,Orange Chicken Beef and mushroom to name a few of my favorites. What you will get is the freshest cooked delicious meal you can find anywhere with top quality ingredients in the correct proportions made from the heart. Guaranteed.
If you like your soy sauce (I would love to know what they put in those soy sauce packets to make it so unbelievably good). You will have to ask for more as you will get two with your to go order. If your dexterous enough for the chopsticks you will need to ask for them at the front counter as well.
That is my Gem story. Don’t tell...
Read moreMy fiance and I happened upon J's Cuisine by a stroke of luck! We planned my Birthday Dinner to be at a restaurant in Greenville. After finding out they were closed on Tuesdays, I called J's Cuisine to find out their hours and Dine-In Option. They were extremely informative and courteous over the phone. We decided to drive to Troy to try their food! Upon entering, the atmosphere was very calm and welcoming, as you should expect from an Taiwanese Cuisine Restaurant! They were very welcoming and inviting and helped my fiance and I with the Menu. After deciding our order, we ordered the Fried Wontons, assuming they were the cream cheese kind. We mentioned my love of Crab Rangons, but my fiance's shellfish allergy. They informed us that the Fried Wontons come in Pork or Cream Cheese with Imitation Crab Meat. Not wanting the risk, we opted for the Pork Wontons. Without charge, they brought me two Crab Rangons since it's my birthday. We got our Appetizers first and were amazed by the deliciousness. The fried pork wontons, egg roll, and crab rangons were AMAZING. When we got our food, we were amazed at the size of our plates and knew immediately there would be leftovers for later. Upon first bite, we fell in love instantly! When ordering, I opted for the General Tso's Chicken and was asked how hot I wanted it... that was new for me. I suggested a 2 on a scale of 1-5. And I kid you not, their General Tso's Chicken was probably THE BEST I've ever had. The heat was perfect for my palate and the flavor and texture were both wonderful! We were right in our assumption that we would have leftovers, but without a single regret. The bill was about expected for the portion sizes, but we did NOT feel gouged or ripped off in the least. Honest pay for honest food. The employees were all very courteous, friendly, and frequently check on us. They mentioned they were happy to have made our night so good. We will definitely be back again! 5/5 Stars! Thank you J's Cuisine. You are worth the...
