I arrived today at 8:55 pm to pick up my carry out order that was ready at 8:48 pm BEFORE store closing at 9:00 pm. Doors were locked, staff was unavailable, and the pick up shelves were empty. While a refund was processed for the amount paid by sweetgreen corporate AI customer service, the inability to pick up my order during posted open hours was also a waste of my time. On top of this, the pick up order that I placed yesterday was missing 3 items! Although I truly enjoy sweetgreen's food, these last two experiences have left me doubtful that I will continue my sweetpass next month. It's not worth the wasted gas, time, and energy.
Addendum/Update: I have updated my review based on the responsiveness of Sweet Green to my issue. I received a direct call from the Sweet Green Troy manager Marchelle to apologize for the incident. She assured me that the store would remain open until the posted closing time in the future and offered a free meal (in addition to the refund I received) for my time and gas. I did receive the free meal and, as stated above in my original posting, the food tasted great! The follow up was very...
Read morePortion sizing is an absolute joke…but it wasn’t always this way, was it sweetgreen? Before you went public portions were so generous that I often had leftovers…
Now you literally have employees shaking food OFF the ladle because some corporate pawn is now a slave to Wall Street analysts
So let me spell it out for everyone reading this: unless your Execs lied to Wall Street about how much overhead costs were, your ~$52 IPO excitement INCLUDED the generous portion sizing costs. This means people wanted to buy shares knowing that the bowls were FULL. Why?! Because company growth meant expansion by way of opening new stores…period.
Not by opening new stores AND cutting back on portions (not to mention introducing the hilariously small new “warm bowls” size) to squeeze overhead lower at the expense of the customers that got you to where you are now.
And yeah, you’re gonna respond with an apology and encouragement to reach out to corporate with some email address…but if you actually sorry, you wouldn’t have intentionally cut back on the portions in the first place, would you now? :/
Get it together and fix your...
Read moreI was so happy when I saw this restaurant open up. The food is delicious. Fresh. I enjoyed absolutely everything. Staff is great too. Ordering via the app is easy.
The one star off is because almost everything is really high in sodium. I'm talking 500 mg to 1200 mg of salt. I was absolutely shocked. I looked at my salad and wonder how in the heck is this thing close to 1200 mgs of salt?
(Beans, chickpeas, lentils, spicy broccoli and sweet potatoes have seasoning, and that is where the sodium came from)
I'm not talking about dish loaded with cheese, soy based sauces, dressing etc. You know going in those will be salty. Lentils and chick peas? My salad had zero meat/dairy in it.
So that's my bummer. Download the ingredients menu and create your own bowl/salad. It isn't the tragedy of the decade. I know next time the salad will be just as good, but why is it so had to get any restaurant food under a 800 mg of salt? I hate doing calculations how to get a salad with around 500 mgs of sodium in it.
Still enjoyed the food...
