Disappointment after disappointment with this place. Went in person to order a cake two weeks in advance, was verbally told it was too soon and I had to place two or three days in advance. I called two days in advance, they told me it was three. ??? So which one is it? Two or three? Obviously this isnât something thatâs clear with staff members and needs to be.
I then asked for a tiramisu cake, was told that the cake wasnât available for ordering that weekend due to not yet receiving ingredient shipment. So what was the point in calling three days ânot twoâ ahead if the specific cake I wanted to order wasnât even available???
I asked what cakes I could order, the staff member listed three cakes⊠Thatâs it? Only three out of the all the cakes that are on constant display? Iâm glad I had an online menu pulled out at the time of the phone call as I asked for a cake that she didnât mention and was able to order it.
I then specifically asked for a certain message on the cake that I could order, the birthday age I asked for was missing when I opened the box. The birthday message was even repeated back to me twice yet was still not on the cake.
Went in today to pickup another cake, that went well, but I was charged for a tiramisu spoon cake that was nowhere to be found in the bag. Itâs the first item I was charged for on my receipt but upon driving the 40 minutes home it was missing. I shouldâve checked the bag, but was in a rush due to the busy environment of the place. Itâs typically placed at the bottom of the bag due to it weight, so I just assumed it was in there. But obviously I thought it was there since it was the first item I was charged for.
I will no longer be coming back here. I think Iâve given the place too many chances and something always seems...
Read moreExtremely bad experience and if you have nut allergy, no matter your severity of your allergy (that means you can have food that share the same facility or not). People who work there have no food allergy knowledge at all. I came in the store with all empty shelves. I saw there are something will be coming out, so I decide to wait in line. Getting excited. And a lady who wear gloves brings the tray with strawberry croissant with nuts on top. She uses her hand (with gloves) shuffle the crumbs on the marble plate from one plate to the other marble plate. And then she starts to put the croissant on the âcleanâ marble plate. After that, using the same gloves, put some yuzi pie, croissant, donut on the other basket, tray and marble plate. I was shocked. And then my son who have nut allergy orders a cake that is in the fridge. As per description, only with coconuts but not other nuts that he is allergic. And I got a croissant and donut for myself. After I paid, I would like to speak to the manager, I just want to share what I saw earlier as I thought the lady who handle the pastries is new. Unfortunately, that lady is the manager. When I told her my son has nut allergy, she immediately takes my pastries away from my hand without letting me know what happeneds. Keep saying donât buy it. My son is ok to eat food that share the same facility that process nuts. But it seems this is not the place. So, donât even waste your time to drive there and...
Read moreI was really looking forward to coming here, but left disappointed. I got the Curry Croquette , Matcha Cream Croissant, and Yuzu Pie. The Curry Croquette was FULL of dripping oil when I bit into it. I thought it mightâve been only in one part, but another bite proved that wasnât the case. The Matcha Cream Croissant was good but not flavourful enough if you are a Matcha fanatic. The Yuzu pie was flavourful, but also nothing to write home about.
The cafe itself is beautiful with a thoughtful layout. Loved the colours and furniture they picked. Would be a great place to catch up with friends or even to get some work done.
This was my first time here, so maybe I didnât order the right stuff? Might give another try if in area, but the experience definitely left me wanting more. Especially for the price! Iâd say itâs a bit on the pricier end for pastries.
Note: All extra things pictured were bought by my friends, so I donât have any comments for those items.
EDITED TO ADD: The establishment replied to my review to note that their croquette is deep fried, which I am fully aware of. Iâve had croquettes at numerous establishments and have never had them dripping/gushing oil. Will try again if ever convenient, but for the price I probably wonât go...
