First time there with my wife to meet her colleague for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, 1 pm. We sat outside because there was a 20 minute or so wait inside. My wife asked for the garlic bread to start munching while the regular food was cooking figuring it should come out quickly to tide us over. After about 15 mins, the garlic bread didn't come. About 5 mins or so more, everything came together: 2 seperate salads each with chicken, my burger, & said garlic bread which was supposed to be the app. There was one side of ketchup on my plate, so I immediately asked for another. I don't understand why restaurants don't bring a bottle instead of doling out tiny ramekins of ketchup, its a hassel to ask for & then wait for more to come. In this case, I was waiting longer for the second ketchup longer than it took to eat the burger & what fries I could with the first ketchup. I asked for med well burger which came out rare. Seeing how long it took to get my ketchup, I didn't even bother to discuss the burger temp since I was hungry & as I ate said burger, finished it, and waited so long for the server to bring the other ketchup, it was moot. For a first impression, not good. If a kitchen can't get a temp right on a burger on a saturday afternoon, I don't have much confidence in anything off the grill if it even remotely busy. I didn't pick this place, my wife says they eat there on lunch from work. After this, it wouldn't be too high on my list for returning. If the slight chance I do, I'll give another review. My opinion might sound a bit harsh, but I worked in a restaurant for over 5 years, 4 of which I cooked. Its not super difficult to temp meat, but if the server asks for a temp, the kitchen should be able to deliver which they did not...

I've been here several times and have always had a great experience. Tonight we decided to order through Doordash.
When the order arrived, only 2 of my 5 orders were there. On the receipt there only listed 2 items. I checked my app and there were 5 confirmed orders. I called and spoke to the manager.
Chances are, they received the order from Doordash and the person who typed in the order in their restaurant's system failed to type all 5 items. The manager confirmed I was missing 3 orders and said he was going to have it made quickly and delivered by one of the hostess.
15 minutes later the manager was at my door! Kind, professional and apologetic.
I've owned multiple restaurants and have been in the hospitaliy business for many years. This manager (Scott I believed), could've suggested a refund which would have upsetted me very much. My family waited an hour for the first delivery and would have had to wait another hour if we were forced to re-order or order elsewhere. Instead, he took responsibility and personally delivered the food. OUTSTANDING!!!
He won me and my family over for sure! I'll be visiting The Sitting Duck a lot more frequently after...
Read moreI went in with my wife to get a drink and a snack. It was busy, to be sure. We asked if we could sit at the bar. We found two seats. We were ignored by staff, including what we later learned was the manger. We thought he was another member of the wait staff. After awhile, two better seats opened up around the side of the bar. We moved, hoping that we would have a better opportunity for service. The new location didn't help for service. After being ignored the second time, we left. The manager asked how our experience was. I shared the above cited experience and said we were leaving. I shared the disappointment at not even having eye contact from the staff. He enjoined us to go back and said he would buy us a round on the house. We declined and left. We bought great beer at Ninety-Nine bottles and had our evening at home. The Sitting Duck is in our back yard. It's sad that we can't enjoy a beer and appetizers in our own neighborhood. We will have to go down to Black Rock or Milford for a good experience. Kudos to Ninety Nine Bottles for giving us excellent service and great beer. I recommend taking your party home and using Ninety Nine Bottles to...
