Hero Diner — Restaurant in Trussville

CRACKED SAUCE + CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Wow, I just tried Hero Doughnuts for the first time and was blown away. I got a new job in the Trussville area and heard that Hero has the best burgers in town, so today I finally got to try it. I ordered the Hero Cheeseburger, crinkle fries, and a drink. Brady at the cash register was the STAR of the show. When he brought my meal out, i asked for extra cracked sauce for my fries and told him it was my first time eating there but that I had heard great things. He was so excited that it was my first time and really went out of his way to make my experience great! He came back with the sauce (SO GOOD) and surprised me with a few sample doughnut holes since it was my first time at Hero! He went on to tell me about some of his favorite menu items and gave suggestions on what I should try in the future. He continued serving customers, cleaning the lobby in between orders, checking on guests who were already eating, and checking in with me again to make sure I was enjoying my meal. With over 10 years in in the hospitality Industry, I was truly amazed at this young man's customer service. The burger was so good, I would have been a repeat customer anyways, BUT because of Brady's shining and personable personality, I couldn't help but to send a pic of my food to all my friends and coworkers bragging about Hero Doughnuts. As soon as I got back to my office, I called the restaurant, confirmed his name, and couldn't type this review fast enough. GREAT SERVICE is rare these days and it deserves to be praised and affirmed - Keep up the great work Brady and Hero Doughnuts, you've got a customer for life! :)

PS - the doughnut holes or "sidekicks" are tasty and fantastic as well and I will definitely be purchasing doughnuts from yall for future...

I arrived after being told I NEEDED to try this place because it was awesome. To be clear...it wasn't bad. It just wasn't great, it was however priced as if it were great so that brings the score down a lot for me. Total after tax and 18% tip: $48.61. 3 breakfast sandwiches (just the sandwiches, no sides), 3 donuts and 1 coffee. We all had water to drink. The best thing we had were the buns from the breakfast rolls. Very flavorful and had a nice texture. The donuts were ok. Like better than grocery store but not as good as other donuts in our area. The sandwiches were ok, fillings were prepared well. The sauce was a bit sweet for me. They weren't $8 sandwiches. Customer service was like a 8/10. The cashier who took our order was friendly and helpful when we had questions. But when a server brought our donuts to the table in a paper sack and kind of just dropped them on the table and walked away it was a tad off putting. They did bring the sammiches out in paper lined baskets and set them on the table politely. That's perfect for this setting. This isn't somewhere I'm likely...

I feel like my expectations were too high. My first visit to the Trussville location was today. So here is my feedback in hopes you all will listen and make some changes. I felt like no one was really “customer service” oriented. No one was there to welcome me and explain the menu or make a recommendation. The cashier was dry, didn’t make a recommendation and didn’t thoroughly explain my order when I asked about it. As this being my first time with Hero and this being a brand new business I expected MUCH more. So now my food… my fries were good. My burger was way too salty, too greasy and the bread was drenched in oil. Honestly, I could have gotten this burger at Sonic and paid 1/2 the cost and they would throw in a drink. We spent $41 after tipping and I could have been just as satisfied and happier at BurgerFi or Five Guys. My doughnut holes (sidekicks) were the same as what I would get at Dunkin or Krispy Kreme.
