2/3/25 Yikes! The Grecian slaw tastes like pure onion to me. Super strong flavor, will never order again. If you do not like onion, hard pass. Not good.
Gets really crowded at lunchtime. I wish they had falafel and roasted cauliflower...but the salads are always super fresh. The hummus is also a win, nothing super special, but very Good
7/12/24 Update: disappointed again unfortunately. This is the second-3rd to go order where a side was left off. When I ordered in the restaurant. Really wanted some hummus, but I guess not.
They finally have falafel on the menu, I was super excited to try their version, I love Mediterranean food and try to go for meat free. They are awful. My opinion only, but they are the worst I have ever had. Consistency, flavor. Incredibly disappointed, I will not order these again. I cannot recommend them. If I had eaten in house I would have tried to substitute for something else. Total with tip was about $40.00. So unfortunately cannot recommend this for the price, service or quality. The staff was friendly but the order was not filled completely, again, side of hummus? Also mentioned several times, soft pita only. Got mixed, so feeding the birds with half and I get the other half. Which doesn't really cover what I ordered
I'm glad I checked the bag before I left, I also ordered a cheesecake that was left out. Again, glad I checked the bag but wish Id checked each container. Got the cheesecake, no hummus, and not enough soft pita, havent fully checked both salads. Hoping onion free- last order missing hummus and onions in salads that requested no onions.
Tip, check every part of order. This is the 2nd or 3rd time something was left out of a to go order. When I ordered at the restaurant , not a call in. Disappointed, I haven't been able to find really good fresh Mediterranean food. If someone can suggest a place with good falafel, maybe roasted cauliflower, mint tea, please suggest!!!
Sorry to say just average. I got the veggie feast, just ok. Falafel feast, do not recommend, cannot suggest and not sure I can finish them. So dry, you need to get two sauces MIN! I don't know what's going on with these. Really odd flavor, not good, oddly greasy, heavy chunky consistency. But the flavor, really, the worst I have had :(
Disappointed. The restaurant was clean and cool. Food average/bad Disappointed. I tipped about $5, so tip doesn't seem to guarantee a correct order. Small things but at the end of a long week, and I'm hungry, this was a disappointment, I wish I had gone somewhere else.
And I won't tip again until after I check the order. $5 + tip on a to go and it's not right? I was trying to be nice lol There was plenty of staff and about 4:00 so not busy. If I had not checked, I would be short hummus, soft pita and cheesecake. At least I was able to catch the cheesecake.
Pay attention to the details guys. I know now to check every single item. But the falafel is so bad, not sure I ll...
Read moreI go to Tazikis Hoover, Tazikis Gardendale, Tazikis Mountain Brook, and UAB Tazikis interchangeably 4-5 times a month. I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. I very rarely come to the Trussville location; however, with my horrible experience this past Friday night...I WILL NEVER come to this location. The service was unprofessional (from 2 cashiers and a cook). As I stood back and watched food being prepared, ( which I almost never do but because my food was taking so long I did so this time...and I'm so glad this I did), because what I witnessed next made me cancel my order. I saw one cook wearing no gloves and handling food, this same cook literally dropped a chicken shabob BEHIND a counter, THEN look at me and place it in foil to serve some poor customer who actually ate that food. I also saw another cook, who HAD GLOVES ON which temporarily made me feel some comfort, THEN drag a garbage can from the back of the store to near the food prep area WITH THOSE SAME GLOVES ON, then prepare food, WITH THOSE SAME GLOVES ON. My mind was blown. I asked for a refund, did not cause a scene, but was disgusted and floored at what I witnessed with a 90 for their health score rating on the wall. To top it all off, the cashier when I asked for a refund got an attitude with me because I wanted to return my drink as well as my meal which I had not taken a sip from. At this point I just wanted to get out of there because I couldn't help the person who's food had been dropped and did not want to witness them pick up their order knowing what I just saw happen to their food. There's definitely work to be done here. Nobody is perfect, but this was unsanitary, unnecessary, disgusting, and...
Read moreLast week my family ordered the potabella chicken mushroom sandwich for our meals. The first time I had it the week before, it was made from fresh whole grilled chicken breast. Last week they put dried up hard chicken breast strips on the sandwiches . They did not tell us that they were going to use the strips. So when we got home that's what we had on the sandwiches , dried hard chicken strips. My husband called the store and the manager said that is what they use when they run out of whole chicken breast. So, today my husband calls to get the sandwich replacements from last week at 6 p.m. and the manager says they are out of chicken breast. How can you already be out of chicken breast? How at 6 p.m. I feel that they were not out but being facetious. When my husband called, the person on the phone already knew what he was calling for and said "we are out of whole chicken breast and using strips only" how did they already know what he was calling for? So, I decided to call uab tazikis to see if you all have the same owner. The manager there took my name and number. The General Manager that is over all the tazikis in Birmingham is going to call me. I also asked him if they have whole chicken breast and chicken strips. He told me what I already knew that they cook the "whole chicken breast " and cut them into strips. My family eats tazikis at least once a week if not two. I never cared to go to Trussville tazikis because I didnt feel they were up to par with uab tazikis. But because we live near trussville, this is why we go there sometimes. Most times I try to get the food from downtown and bring it home because I work downtown. Needless to say, I am very very...
