The Trussville location of Belk is a disgrace. Since they combined the two stores into one it has been overcrowded and disorganized. The entire store is always messy like at the end of a big sale when customers have tossed the store. They have gotten it a little more organized but stuff is moved around so much I have to search or ask where certain areas have been moved to when I go there. The shoe section used to be large and well organized. Now there are tables of clearance shoes that are so tossed you can't find anything and entire sections have completely disappeared. They do have one men's and one women's dressing rooms open now after Covid but the women's is next to the young contemporary clothes in a corner of the downstairs (and was trashed, hot,and not very clean). Women's clothes are scattered over a good portion of the downstairs except the plus size, which is upstairs in the corner above young contemporary so the plus size, usually older customers walk themselves to death if they have to go back and forth to try on anything. I actually saw a lady try on a pair of shorts between isles of clothing upstairs to keep from having to go back and forth with her walker. Put the open dressing room close to the people that need it closer and have more money. The youth can walk farther. I used to buy most of my clothes there but whoever is choosing their styles now needs to go. I have found very few things there I like or that fit well (the sizes aren't accurate in some brands-especially shoes) in a couple of years now. Truthfully Walmart has cuter clothes now which is really sad. I was in the store the other day because I had ordered some items online. I returned everything because the sizes were off and/or the quality of the item was so cheaply made. They did take all the returns without any hassle. It took me a couple of hours looking in there to discover none of the sneakers I was interested in looking at in my usual size were anywhere close to my usual size (usually wear 7.5-8 and one style, if they had any in stock, I would have worn maybe a 11 because I couldn't get my foot even halfway into a 9. Another style the 9 barely fit. Are they burying Oriental sizes now?) The underwear was so out of place I had to search all over because I might find a bra style I liked but it was the only one I found and it was the wrong size. They're stocking alot of the cheaply made fused fabric bras that have the removable pads (which I hate) now which don't hold you up and usually fall apart way faster. On top of it all, there were very few registers open and I think they were rotating because ones that were open at one point were closed a bit later.    Read moreI donât normally do reviews. But today. My experience was the worst I ever had. It started from the time I walked through the door. No one was there to help me at the Mac Makeup counter. So, do I open the drawers and get what I know I need, I come here so often, I know where it is. Or would that be suspicious. Then I walk over to the shoe dept. No one there. I find a shoe patiently wait walking around a man walks into the area walks past me and goes to the register. He never acknowledge me starts shifting boxes on the counter. I put the shoe back walks towards him to leave and he says ânothingâ. I go upstairs pick out a bedspread take it to a counter. The young man is unboxing items⊠sees me never acknowledge me until I get the spread off the counter and proceed to go to another counter on the other side of the store. I get there and its only two people in line. The cashier takes forever with that customer to find coupons and they laughing and talking. I left the spread their. I go back down stairs to take one more shot at getting the shoe. Same thing. I look up whoa somebody at the Mac counter the cashier talking to a customer sitting down trying on her own makeup just talking about her event and what she wearing etc. The Mac rep just standing there she see me at the counter waiting. She never acknowledge me. She said nothingâŠ.. even when she saw me leaving. She said, nothing. The customer service was absolutely terrible, terrible, terrible. It is sad but very true. You should not have to beg someone to help you or at least acknowledge your presence. Not one person said, Maam can I help you or Be with you in just a secondâŠ. Nothing.    Read moreHad an appointment wanted to drop by belk and return something quickly. Well that didnât happen. To start with they didnât unlock door till almost 5 after 10. Then I went upstairs to make my return. Lady sends me to childrenâs register to check out. The sales lady is counting coins and tells me it is going to be a while. She said if you donât want to wait go to cosmetics or shoes. I go downstairs guy in shoes is counting his coins. So I go to cosmetics. Lady at counter was chatting it up with one of her favorite customers another lady cosmetics ask me if she could help i said yes i have a return. she said oh i am sorry they didn't open this register. so i had to wait on lady chatting it up. when her customer finally realized i was behind her and left she acted annoyed that i broke up her conversation. she couldn't get my receipt to scan so she told me i would have to wait for her to open another register or go to ladies wear. I said the lady upstairs that was counting coins said you and shoes was the only open registers so i guess i will have to wait. She said no ladies wear down stairs is open. so i go over there. that lady couldn't get receipt to scan either. She was able to pull it up with Belk card. Why couldn't lady in cosmetics???? i finally got my return done. it was one item by the way. it took 15 minutes and the run around the store. It crazy they open late and are not ready for business when they do. I spend a lot of money with them but service...
