My 1st anniversary was the 15th. I work in N. Portland until late and live in Salem. My husband agreed to meet me here and after our experience I will never get him to go again. We walked in at 840. The lady taking our order made a point of stating they close in 15 mins and turned away while sweeping the front. My husband was ready to walk but I assured him we where not typical and could eat in the car on our anniversary. I ordered no olives on my Med Chilean Zucchini with chicken and my husband got a med chicken Jazzy. We also got 2 drinks and I tipped. We walked out a little before 8:50 because at 8:50 when I came back to the door with my olive covered bowl the door was locked. I knocked on the window for 7 mins before my husband went to the back door. The guy that came said they could not remake the order. I explained that I had come straight from work there just for this and wanted my money back. He took my bowl said he would talk to the manager and came back with 8 dollars. In the end my husbands bowl was l wrong also but we where already driving back to Salem in 2 different cars. So I paid 20 bucks for a soda and Ice tea and they did not deserve my tip.. Also so you know 3 cars came to check if there where open while I was knocking. Since I spent 28 bucks I only imagine them closing early cost the store another 75...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo Iāve been coming to cafe yumm for 30+ years. Food wise Iāll never get tired of it. It is one of my favorite lunch places and I go at least 3-4 times a week. Food always gets 5 star. However this location Iāve gone to several times now, and every single time my large bowl is only 3/4 full. I go to Beaverton usually and Eugene often. The bowls are always filled to over the top and the lid smashes it down so itās completely 100% full. Iām not the type to review, however I felt I needed to here. I will not be coming back to this location again. Which is a shame because itās one of the closest to where I live. On top of what I mentioned the price went up on the bowls recently. Which I totally understand. But full the bowls up! A large bowl 3/4 filled does not make me full for $11.50. I couldnāt even guess within $1000 of how many yumm bowls Iāve ate in my life. I grew up down the street from the very first location. I do t like complaining. But this is really unexceptable as Almost all other locations fill the bowl up and give you your moneys worth. Please change this method. Go see what Beaverton is doing. They are the busiest location out of all
Thanks. Again the food is consistently my favorite. I will change my review if this location changes their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDon't get me wrong. I love the food. I eat Cafe Yumm a few times per week. I get the small Jazzy bowl with chicken added. I can usually only eat half and save the rest for the next day.
However, this week, I noticed that I ate the whole thing. Strange, okay. Today I looked and the bowl was half full. I get it through GrubHub, but the very top of the bowl - rice, avocado, chicken, all of it - only reached the halfway mark on the container it came in. And it is definitely the same size container that it usually is. I would know - I get this a lot. Not only that, but I had two pieces of chicken and two slices of avocado. Something is definitely off.
I'm disappointed that I paid $17 to have half a meal delivered. I'm going to watch this again next week. If it goes back to normal, I'll update my rating. Because I really like Cafe Yumm, but cutting your portion sizes back by half isn't the move. I checked the calorie content and that hasn't been updated on the corporate page. I would expect that to have gone down if they officially cut back portion sizes...
