01/07/25 ACCUSED US OF EATING MORE THAN WE DID

My friend and I go to the Bridgeport Sushi Hana a lot, so much so that they know us and our order.

We usually order 8 pieces of seared salmon. 4 pieces each. We each get 4 plates each.

Today we decided to order 6 pieces of seared salmon. Each plate has two pieces of seared salmon. We received the salmon and I went ahead and ate four pieces. The other pieces we wanted remade.

The cook came over and “remade” the sushi, while doing so he was huffing and puffing (he was upset we wanted it “remade” even though he just took the same pieces and just seared them a little more).

When the cook finished “remaking” he placed each pair on a separate plate. He ended up giving us two EXTRA PLATES.. but the amount we ate was less than the amount of plates we got.

When I went to pay she told me my total for 3 plates. When my friend goes to pay they try charging her for FIVE plates even though she ordered/ate THREE.

My friend was trying to explain to the lady that the cook handed us two extra plates and she was NOT having it. She was accusing my friend of lying to her, and she didn’t believe that we didn’t eat 8 plates (like we usually do). The cook bailed on us when the lady started to yell. My friend and I told them to look at the cameras because we only ordered SIX not EIGHT. We ended up asking the lady who actually took our order to come over. She tells the other lady that we DID in fact order only 6. The blonde lady literally wasn’t believing us and calling us liars.

I ended up losing my crap. I yelled at her. We have always paid for our food, we always tip, we are always clean and respectful. They KNOW US but yet they’re accusing us of lying ?! Crazy. My friend and I will no longer be going back to the Bridgeport location and neither should you… unless you wanna get accused of eating more than you actually did.

The cook knows he gave us only 6 pieces, he was pissed that we wanted them remade so that’s why he dipped when the lady was...

We went for lunch on Aug 8 around 1pm. The food was great. The options available are in abundance. The restaurant is clean and well kept. The only complaint is that the server doesn't check back for refills on drinks. She also made me feel as if I inconvenienced her by asking for some spicy mayonnaise. That aside, still a great dining experience. What made my rating go down to a 2 star is my experience at check out. I never received my bill at the table and we sat there for a while waiting. I figured I'd go up, maybe this location doesn't bring you the bill to the table. I went to the counter and went to pay. I swiped my card and got my receipt. Upon looking at my receipt, I realized I was overcharged. Not a big deal. I respectfully bring it to the cashiers attention. She tells me to swipe my card for a refund, which I do. Then she re-rings up my order for the correct amount, tells me to swipe my card which I do. Now that that is all taken care of and resolved, we leave. A couple of days later I'm checking my account online and I notice not only am I charged the incorrect amount, but I'm also charged the correct amount. Neither are "pending" charges. They both have cleared. I attempted to call the store, no answer the first time, I figured they were busy. I called again the next day, there was a communication issue with the lady who answered, so I ended up having to dispute with the credit card company. The issue has since been resolved but I wanted to let people know to check your receipts BEFORE paying your bill. I made the mistake of not doing that, I take responsibility for not having done that but unfortunately I doubt the store will for their part being that both attempts to notify them failed. All in all, good dining experience...

My husband and have been to this location twice and both times the conveyor belt was full to full with only one customer . The sushi on the conveyor belt was old from sitting to long avocado was brown/black and slimy sushi was discolored rice was dried out. We chose to order fresh. The 3 guys making the sushi were not in any hurry to start our orders and keep in mind we are now the only ones in there. They stood there talking to each other for about 5 mins then took there time making our orders. It took 10 mins to get seared salmon and another 5 mins to get my eel . Everytime we ordered it was an inconvenience. I ordered 1 more plate a scorpion . The guys walked to the other end of the bar I noticed the one guy looking at all the sushi going by on the conveyor belt and he said something in Spanish and nudged his head towards what he was looking at on the conveyor belt. I watched the other guy grab it and set it in front of him (like he made it) then he picked it up and walk down to me and walked away. I turned to my husband and said WTF!! It was old and nasty looking . My husband picked it up and set it back on the conveyor belt . I was so mad and disappointed that we left. Don't go there expecting to get fresh sushi and if you do go watch them bc they will grab old sushi off the belt and serve it to you!! I would NEVER ORDER TO GO bc if you think ur getting freshly made sushi you are not. I GUARANTEE ur getting what's on the belt and that nasty. If you want good sushi go to sushi Hana on sw hall we've been here many times. It's always busy so things don't sit around on the conveyor belt. The waitresses are friendly come around to check on you the cooks are great...

I personally like this restaurant the best in the Portland area. I've been a regular customer of theirs for years and still go there often. The price is reasonable and the taste is very good. There are many sushi restaurants in this area, but when considering the price-performance ratio, I think this restaurant is the best. Among many restaurants, there are many restaurants that boast of being the best in sushi and charge a lot of money for the meal, but basically, the taste of sashimi comes from the fish, and people cannot artificially produce the taste. And I can say with certainty that there are only 3~4 companies that supply sashimi in this area, so the fish used in high-end restaurants and the sashimi from the neighborhood are the same fish in the end, and in most cases, the quality of sashimi is almost the same. If I wanted to eat the best sushi that no one has ever eaten, I would rather save up money and go to Japan and find the real best restaurant. The quality of sushi restaurants in this area is not that different... but we better know that the bill for the meal can vary greatly. If you can eat the same quality sashimi at a reasonable price, I would recommend this restaurant. Well-trained sushi chefs can make the menu you want right away, and in most cases, you can eat the food right on the track. The sushi on the track is freshly made, so you might not need to, but if you still don't like it, you can ask the chef to make it again... Above all, I recommend this restaurant's udon on cold days like these. I've been to many different restaurants and eaten udon, but when it comes to udon, I personally like this restaurant's udon the best.

I’m so angry with this place and I will never come back. I placed an $85 order for 5 people. When I got there, the guy at the counter shoved my bags over to me and dropped an entire bag of it upside down. I asked if they would be willing to remake it, he said “nah we’re too busy.” An entire 1/3 of our order is smashed to bits and literally has food sticking out of it because it’s so destroyed. I’m extremely upset. I used to buy family dinners here a few times a month and I will NEVER be back.

edit: Initially I gave this place a 1 star review, but have changed it to 3 stars since coming back. This time, the food was better and being made fresh. Most of the rolls are full of imitation crab, which is fine, just makes it feel lacking in variety. The food was decent, although seemed that some things lacked flavor. I will check back in again sometime to see if any additional improvements are made.
