Aesthetically pleasing on the outside and in, the good choices are numerous but there are a few things lacking so hard that it brought it to a 2 star review. Specifically, my wife had surgery and she can't eat more then a large eggs worth the food so she decided to order by weight. This was suggested by her the women in the front, good idea, saved money and she could bring it home and finish it later. After getting the food and paying for the weight the rest of us had the buffet. Immediately our waitress accused my wife of not paying for it. We explained that she did and she argued with us, she then left and checked with the front desk, she found out that it was paid. The rest of the time she avoided clearing dishes, filling drinks and when we were still standing up to leave she looked at the ticket and said, "No tip on here". I had no time to even get my wallet out to put a tip down say this point. I can recognize the wait staff and the cooks we're tired, however many of us have worked retail food before and no matter how tired we always went the extra mile to give the best experience. The food was, okay at best. The chocolate fountain barely worked, all the fruits were fresh though and that was nice. The rice was dry and bland, beef and broccoli had little to no flavor, the beef was hard and chewy. I'd recommend some place else, the food and wait staff aren't worth the cost. My reviews in the past speak for themselves.

So I've never been to this buffet before and this was my first time let me tell you about my first time coming in the door the ladies customer service that's supposed to greet you nicely it was a little girl's 8 year old birthday she acts the little girl mother did she have her birth certificate or identification to prove that today was her birthday it was very very baffling to me all the lady asked for was for a refund for her daughter because the lady had charged her for her birthday the lady at the front desk was very rude and did not give the woman a refund.. What kind of person would ask a child for ID to prove it on her Birthday and she had a 8 Balloon and they sang to her.. so your overall score is a 2 Star on customer service because that is important for a restaurant to run successfully.. Second the Beef and Broccoli had NO BEEF One piece of Beef .. I had to go and ask the women to fix it and it took them a Minute but they Did..

Had a pretty horrifying experience at Teppanyaki Buffet. We got there 2 hours before close, but nothing in the time we were there was refreshed or refilled. Some bars were completely empty, while others had trays with hour old burned remains of dishes stuck to the bottom of them. Upon request, two dishes were refreshed.

They started mixing Fabuloso and water in the bucket next to my table while I was trying to eat. When I asked them to move it, they did. Then a half hour later they mopped our entire section, my shoes included. Then the parked the mop and bucket 4 feet behind my chair. The whole place reeked of cleanser. I couldn’t breathe, definitely couldn’t eat. Mind you it was 9:15 and there are other people in this section also trying to eat.

So that was pretty unpleasant. But then things took their worst turn. Mom had excused herself to the bathroom and noticed a man come up behind her and stand outside the door, obviously waiting to clean. That's awkward, but forgivable. What wasn't forgivable was when he got impatient and went into the bathroom and began cleaning it, knowing she was still in there and even tried to open the stall she was in. I brought this to the attention of the staff, however I'm not sure they cared or appreciated how unacceptable this was. Mom, on the brink of tears, expressed her embarrassment and anger, and she received no response or apology. A couple actually chuckled. I don't think this was a language barrier for all of the people at the table, as at least 3 had conversed in very good English with us and other patrons.

We will never be back.

This is my wife & I's favorite place to go in Richmond as our family has been going to this place since it first moved to this location. (We used to go to the one on the southside of town near Chesterfield Town Center as it closed during COVID for good.)

If I ask my wife where she wants to go on her birthday, Valentine's Day, special occasions, I don't even have to ask anymore as it's a given: Teppanyaki Grill & Buffet! The variety is incredible & everything tastes so good and the quality/taste is always the same every time we come here to eat. Of course, my personal preference is the sushi selection as there's a great variety to choose from & it's always available. They even have cheese pizza which my high school aged son still eats along with chicken nuggets & fries, so there's food for kids to eat who may not like Chinese food. (Deserts are great & their ice cream cups are my middle school aged son's favorite thing, especially the butter pecan ice cream that has no pecan nuts in it.)

All the years I've been going to this restaurant, the service has ALWAYS been great as our plates are cleared quickly & drinks are always refilled in a timely fashion. The waitresses have seen my kids grow up & have even made comments on how quickly they've grown which is flattering to see how kind they are towards my kids. (Now 1 in high school & 1 in middle school.) They are good people & I so enjoy spending my money at a place with good people who appreciate our business.

If you want a place that has something for everyone, I highly recommend Teppanyaki Grill & Buffet as it’s our family’s favorite place to go in Richmond. (Including family from...

Most of the food had been out for quite a while and was not being refilled, we showed up at 8:45 p.m. on a Saturday. And out of the food that we could pick from it seems like it was the less popular items. Things like the crab we're not refilled for over half an hour. And the hibachi station had closed down an hour before close, preventing me from getting hibachi as planned.

The sushi was okay but it too had been sitting out for quite a while the tempura sushi was completely soggy and zero crispiness to it it was inedible. I've never wasted so much food at a buffet of my life. I would get a little bit of this and that mainly because there wasn't a lot of any one thing that I wanted but almost everything I tried was old, stale, soggy, or cold.

I had went to the location a few times years past and Midlothian and had decent experiences, this location was awful. You would think that on a Saturday night before 9:00 that they would still have things going especially with as busy as they were but it seems like they only filled things on a as-needed basi, you were stuck with leftovers.

And come 9:30 an hour before they close instead of filling up desserts that had been half empty the whole time I was there they consolidated them into one stack prepping for closing, which is odd to me because most people would want dessert before they leave and seeing it's our before it close you would think they would want to have fresh desserts ready for people but it does not seem that freshness is the prerogative here.

Will never come back or recommend...
