Compared to visiting this location in the past multiple times, this most recent experience was disappointing enough that I am considering not returning for the foreseeable future. There were many issues with service, such as teriyaki steak entree coming out cold, hot tea came out in a tea pot but only one tea bag for the entire pot, sushi that we ordered was missing ingredients, no refills provided by server upon request, no sauce delivered upon request, warm sushi, plates were piling up on the table and they were not being cleared off. Trash on the floor, degradation of building materials, and the list goes on. The server did not do any table touches. Other servers were unable to assist when our server was missing for very long periods of time. In short, this is not something that I expect from Sushi King. My housemate, mutual friend, and I decided not to order anything else beyond our initial order. The food looked appealing, but eating it was a wake-up call. Just very poor ingredients, flavor, temperature, and so on. I used to enjoy dining in for lunch or dinner, but this experience has really left me just not interested. Personally, I would have rather spent the money on going somewhere else. I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to avoid coming here. Just walk in and look around, make your decision at that point. The place is falling apart, and a good rule of thumb is that there is little cash flow, high turn over, likely poor standard of safe food practices. A better alternative would be Osaka, Lucky AF, and Sakura sushi restaurants. I have been to all of the aforementioned places and would highly recommend any one of them over this particular location. Dear business owner, I demand a full refund within 7 business days from this post. Failure to promptly process this may result in further action taken.

Not worth the money! Food Does NOT look anything like their website shows!

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would!!!!!! This was my first time going to Sushi King and it was the last time as well. When we arrived it seemed like a very nice and pleasant place. Until we were sat in a back room that was morbid looking and just dirty, the chairs are very uncomfortable and you feel like you are in a dungeon.

As we waited for our server, we were checking the items off that we were ordering along with our drinks. The server finally came over and stated he was supposed to check off the drink order (No one told us this when we were seated). The server told us after we tried handing him our order slips that we were to read the information off to him of what we wanted, which we did.

After 10 to 15 min. the food arrived that we ordered. However, it was not all the food we had ordered. After another 10 min. the rest of the food came. One of the orders was a Boston Hand Roll. Lets just say it was extremely less desirable after seeing it. They used a whole sheet of Nori and wrapped just a small portion of rice in it. This was quite disgusting looking and my friend couldn't even eat it that is how bad it looked. Imagine the Nori looking like a waffle cone with just a small amount of rice in it. There was more Nori than stuffing on the inside of it. With the Boston Rolls (Not hand roll) the rice was just falling apart. There was hardly anything in the center of it. The only thing you tasted was rice and nothing else. The other sushi rolls that I had with crab meat and cream cheese were mostly rice. Had the rolls not had spicy mayo on them I would only have tasted the rice and they barely had any meat and cream cheese in them.

The server kept getting confused on who got what and there was only 2 people at the table. He kept trying to give me my friends food and his ginger ale each time.

After a while the server came over asked if we wanted more food, we both said no. He then said "Ok, you just want check"? I said yes and he walked off. A few minutes later he came back with the check and then asked my friend if he didn't want the rest of his food order. Now, by then it was almost an hour there so he had forgotten about the rest of what he had ordered. As my friend asked the server that after all this time the food is now ready, the server said yes. Neither one of us could believe that it took almost an hour to fix two small pieces of sushi. My friend ended up getting it in a to go box. Honestly, after seeing it in the to go box it is not appetizing looking what so ever.

To spend $12.99 per person for their lunch menu, then $2.50 for a drink the prices are too high for the quality of food as it is of poor quality. The food looked as if it had just been slapped together with rice that was falling apart and little to no stuffing on the inside. Every plate that had our food served on was chipped, the forks were bent and even the plastic cups our drinks were served in were chipped. Being in a room that was so dirty and morbid the atmosphere was miserable and not cheery feeling. However, if your lucky to sit in the Nice part of the restaurant I am sure it is probably more relaxing and pleasant.

Also, make sure you order what you can eat. They have a NO WASTE policy and any food not eaten you will be charged for. The server does not tell you this, however, it is in small print at the top of the order form.

In the end, save your money as this is not high quality...

Let me just preface this review by saying we have had numerous great experiences prior to this day. We've also had a couple rough experiences due to servers being very new. Today was by far the worst, and unless I'm directly contacted by the owner we will not be coming back nor will i be changing my review. We arrived at 2:08pm. My girlfriend came in ahead of me while I parked the car. I was about 45 secs behind her. I walked in and didn't see her. I asked the lady with big wide glasses at the front desk, who was on her personal cell phone, where the lady that just came in went. She acted like I was an inconvenience and stated she didn't know. She was more worried about her personal call rather than helping a customer. She told me I "should give her a call"....I said "really?? Just proceed with your call. That's more important." Now we have been very sick for over a week. We had been craving sushi king for a while. We never come out anymore bc it's been tight budget wise lately. So I swallowed my frustration with the rude lady upfront and hoped the service and food would supercede what just happened. Well it didn't. It just got worse from there. Our waitress greeted us. Asked for our drink orders. When she came back we ordered 2 soups, an app, 3 entrees, and 4 rolls. We get our entrees before anything. Waitress never asked if we were ok. She was absolutely clueless. When we ordered she told us "give me the numbers." Well that clearly didn't work bc the deep fried rolls I ordered at the beginning never came bc she never put it in. Then blamed it on the kitchen bc it needs to fry. I'm a frequent customer so I know she was Bsing me. Volcano rolls take 15 to 20 mins. Hence why I ordered 2 at THE BEGINNING of our meal. Then our app came. Then 1 of our rolls arrived. Still no soup. We had to ask for our own order numerous times. And she passed us 8 times before even revisiting us after our initial order. We literally didn't matter. And other tables were treated the exact same way. The people across from us waited for at least 10 mins before being acknowledged. By the time I got my volcano rolls it had been an hr and 15 mins since I ordered them. I asked for the bill. Got up and went to the front desk. I asked who was in charge....what do ya know? It's the rude lady with glasses from earlier. I replied with "that's funny because you're rude. You couldn't even stop your personal call to help my find my other half of my party. I also get better service at chik fila than here. Also no amount of new paint, furniture or name change will make up for how you treat your customers so badly. Here's my $49." I've never wanted to walk out of an establishment without paying so bad in my entire life. These people REPRESENTING your establishment are nasty and vile. Ive run restaurants since I was 18, 15 years total. I wouldn't even let someone like her wash dishes let alone collect a check as a manager. You guys need to figure this crap out bc this is not ok. We will gladly go to Yoshi, Domoishi, Levels or Lucky AF before we EVER consider giving you another penny of our hard...

I don't even want to give this sushi king 1 star. The service was absolutely horrible. The manager was terrible and the sushi was sloppy. When we (my bf and I) walked in we opened the door for an older couple so they ended up in front of us. When we got inside the couple told the hostess that we were first so they should wait instead of us (it was about a 15 min wait) and the hostess proceeded to roll her eyes and said "yeah, well you guys got in the door first". We didn't mind waiting but the attitude and the way she handled them was rude. Then, we were seated about 15 mins later and each of us ordered a bowl of clear soup, an order of spring rolls, and 2 rolls of sushi. We were there for an hour and 30 mins. 25 mins after we ordered finally got 1 thing of spring rolls. 10 mins after, i got a roll of sushi. And 5 mins after my bf got a roll of sushi. We asked our waiter for our soup for the second time. And waited then asked for a manager. As the manager walked to our table out waiter saw him and made a dash for our table in an effort to get us to order with him instead of talking to the manager. We asked he waiter to come back and then told the manager what happened. He was like I'm sorry we will discount your meal for you. We said okay thanks and decided to stay and wait for the rest of our first order. We waited another 15 mins passed and our waiter came back 2 times in that time asking us if we wanted something else (we still didn't get the other sushi rolls and the second spring rolls and neither soups). He finally brought us 1 thing of soup and our other order of spring rolls 5 mins later. After he took the table behind us two bowls of soup. We were angry and decided that we were done and got up to pay at the register. At this point the manager proceeded to give us a 10% discount after saying he was going to give us an even more discounted meal due to us never getting our full order. When we were both shocked by what wasn't even basically a discount he proceeded to smile at our annoyance. I asked him if there was a regional manager for which he laughed and stated that he is the manager and that he was the only one I could talk too. He then took my card and we paid and left. Would not recommend going to this sushi king EVER, I won't be going back myself. If you want to go to one, go to the one in Midlothian. The service is much better, much quicker and the sushi is better prepared. Don't waste your time or money on this location...
