So disappointed in this place. It's near me, it's newly renovated and is visually a nice place.
My last review asked me to send them a message so they could address the issue. Don't know if they did, because I never heard back from them. Today, As I walked it, the manager was in the foyer and blocking my entrance with her back to the door talking LOUDLY on her cell phone, obviously complaining about an employee who stays on their phone. I had to say something to get her attention to enter. I should have walked out. Everyone, including the employees could clearly hear her since she was speaking loudly. Just totally unprofessional and obnoxious.
As soon as she was done, she came in the restaurant and loudly asked everyone if their food was good, like nothing happened and what they just heard was normal.
I ate, it was decent, but she continued ranting in back while I waited for my food. Obviously a trashy attitude.
I most likely won't come back. And that saddens me as I actually enjoy the food, when done right.
I get it, it's fast food, and the people working there may or may not be wholly enthusiastic to be there. But dang.....I expect the manager at least to be professional.
Not this place. I"m out.
Previous review: Food was either over cooked, or left over from lunch. Additionally, the oil obviously needs to be changed.
The cashier had a massive problem with something and clicked her teeth or rolled her eyes at every request or question. Lose your attitude, lady, for real. Next time (if there is one) I won't hold back. You don't have to fawn over your customers, but you don't have to be outwardly rude either. Sheesh
I've been here many times since they re-opened and never seen the food or service as bad this, even as the old place aged and started to look run down. One more time like this and I'll never go back. Not at those...
Read moreThe food wasn't cooked properly, it was cold and my family and I got sick the same night and the next day after eating here. On top of that, my food plate actually never came until we had to tell the people at the cashier that they messed up the order and then charged us an extra order for my plate and they didn't give my cousin a side of fries which we had ordered and payed for and it never arrived as well. It got to the point where we tried to reach the manager but nobody was paying attention or listening and when we tried to ask for a refund it became a whole situation instead. One of the employees called one of my family members an offensive word and started to say stuff and even confessed that they had stolen our money and she quoted specifically "and what are you gonna do about it? Get the #$%@ out of my store". It got worse when she started to approach us aggressively and I told her to back down bc she was approaching my mother and when i told her that she will not speak to my mother that way, she began her hostile intent towards me. Calling me names, being racist, and eventually led to her hitting me in the face when there was a person (my cousin) between us trying to block the aggression towards me. We had to get the authorities involved when all the employee had to do was either give us the money owed to us for overcharging or tell us to wait because apparently there were only two people working currently. However, when we first arrived at the restaurant there were more than two people and it had been an hour since. This was the time i waited for the food that never was delivered until we were charged for it again. On top of that, they got my order wrong. It was horrible service and even worse communication between employee and customer and I'm positive that after this experience, neither myself nor my family would want to return there anytime...
Read moreI had not been to this (or any) Captain D's since before the COVID pandemic, though I was familiar with this one in the past, years ago. Since I was wanting a piece of fish, I decided to try it again, late evening. The positives: The place was very clean, much cleaner than I had remembered, and very orderly. The cashier was friendly both at the register and bringing the food to my table, even though dividing his time with drive up (there were very few customers inside). The food was well prepared. The negatives: The size of the fish portions have seriously diminished over the years, and the portion of fries was small, though the hush puppies are still sizable and good and the amount of packetized condiments that came with it reasonable (malt vinegar, ketchup) Although there were no self-service condiments anymore, and seafood sauce was absent. The other strange thing was that the role of paper towels but traditionally serve as napkins was not a normal kitchen paper towel roll, but the kind of role that's used in a public restroom. I found that really weird. Overall the size of the meal seemed like a "senior plate" or a "child's plate" but could be considered appropriate for the price of $5.99, which was promoted, versus other meal prices on the menu. I do wonder whether those other meals with higher prices would have larger pieces of fish, as that would now be a decisive factor as to whether I go back and order one of those higher priced combo meals. So my overall reaction is pretty neutral, neither terribly disappointed nor ecstatic. If the quality of the food remained the same and the portions were sufficiently larger, I would give the experience a...
