I normally would give this location 5 stars. MY husband and I always stop here whenever we make the 250 mile round trip to Tucson. However today I cannot give them more than 1 star and I will never stop at this location again.
I tried to place an online order for 3 Asagio and 3 everything bagels with veggie cream cheese to be delivered to St. Joseph's Hospital about 2 miles from this Bruegger's Bagels. The site said the order was not large enough for Delivery.
My husband Daniel K. Is currently on 1 South in the COVID unit. And he is currently fighting for his life from severe complications from the Coronavirus and has been since 6/6. He is alone in an isolated room, bare of anything. He is depressed, lonely and just want me to let him die. He was readmitted for a 2nd time to St. Joseph's Hospital on 6/25 due to severe weight loss, extreme diarrhea, and several other issues. At the time the the ER doctor said they are seeing similar situations with other Covid-19 patients and unfortunately the outcome is not good. He said I should go home and prepare for the worse.
Now he has congestive heart failure he is very weak has an enlarged spleen and many other issues happening And he in all reality may not make it. I wanted to get him one of his most favorite things in Tucson, bagels from this Broadway location in case the worst happens.
Again, it's a 250 mile round trip to go there and I myself am recovering from covid-19 as well. I called the location I explained the situation to the manager hoping maybe she would offer to take it to the hospital. Instead, all she said was sorry it has to be over 30 dollars for delivery and they use a delivery company. She said I could pick it up and I told her the distance issue. She again said she was sorry. I told her there was a good chance of him not surviving this.
I, being a manager of a retail and food location, would have offered to do the 15 min delivery to help give someone a bit of happiness in their hour of despair.
I can see that for this Broadway location, humanity, decency and going the extra mile takes a back seat to the dollar. I would have gladly given her the delivery fee being charged on the site as well.
So very sad!
Today I decided to give th another chance So i went online and increased my order and still had issues. I called the location and talked with a man who said he was a manager. I told him I was having issues with the website so could he help me . I decided to order some items for all the nurses on the floor helping my husband.
The man said minimum is 50 my order was 48. I said add another bagel. Then he said he needed 24 notice for delivery because they were short handed. I said the website says by 2pm
I said you close at 3 it was 130pm
I said do you have these items available he said yes I said what's the problem then. He recommented that he was short handed. I said so you won't help me get food to the busy nurses and to a man fighting for his life when you could be the...

I went inā¦itās fast foodā¦thereās not much of an interaction other than ordering. I get up to the register and the guy working the registerā¦kind of tall, blonde, hole in his jeans pocket, asks if I want coffee. I order two cold brewsā¦which Iāve done a dozen times before since the cold brew was launched. he began to ask me what flavor I wanted- I responded ājust black nothing in them.ā He then comes back with two cold brews with cream. Iām sort of flabbergasted because I know we had the exchange where I said nothing in itā¦so I say āoh no Iām sorry I wanted them both black.ā He is irritated by this for some reasons and says āwell the cold brew comes with cream.ā Iām standing here at this point so confused because not only have I ordered black cold brews dozens of times since they launched it, but we also talked about me wanting it black.
So I just say āI mean I get it black all the timeā¦and I said black before you Made themā and he gets frustrated again and says āyeah Iāll totally remake them for youā in an extremely passive aggressive way. Then he remakes themā¦but doesnāt fill them up all the way. He leaves like 2 inches of space at the top of the cup.
At this point Iām so over this guy I just take them. If the policy is you canāt have a full black cold brew (which I suspect itās not because I get them alllll the time) then he should have mentioned that when I ordered them black. Which he didnāt. And also people drink their coffee black so once again I find it very unlikely thatās actually a ārule.ā

I called in the Friday afternoon before and asked if it would be ok to have a company meeting at the Alvernon & Broadway Bruegger's Bagels, for about 15 employees of Meineke Car Care. The Bruegger's employee was very kind, and said, with lots of enthusiasm, "Yes, Of Course!" Then it gets better. We all show up at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, 13th of January 2018, and were greeted by Dena Lucero, their General Manager. Dena looked after us throughout the hour long meeting, cleaning up after my messy technicians, and was extremely kind and thoughtful, making sure we all had everything we needed. The Bagels are phenomenal here, and we all dug into the food heartily. I would easily recommend this Bruegger's Bagels to everyone!!!
