Have tried this neighborhood grill, take out, 3 times over the last several months. All 3 3xperiences were disappointing specifically due to the almost non existent customer service. It has changed ownership several times since opening and no one working there seems to care about the customer. Two nights ago (Sat night) we called to place a take out order. The phone range at least 20 times; finally someone picked up the phone but didn't speak. They left the phone off the hook so it remained busy when we tried calling back. Drove over to place an order, relayed our issue with ordering...phone was still off the hook and person at the register could not have cared less about our experience. We should have left and gone down the street to the new and well reviewed new Greek Restaurant on the corner of Tucson Blvd and Speedway. We will not ever go back here. This last experience was much like our first two. Very disappointing especially for a $14 gyro which wasn't on Pita but a flat wrap. They should ask what type of bread a...
Read moreCaravan is my all-time favorite restaurant in Tucson and I can't believe I'm just getting around to writing a review. Dean, the owner, is the nicest guy and he's often working in house with his family. This is the best spot for a casual lunch or dinner! I've eaten here easily 40-50 times over my 6 years of living in the Tucson area and it is excellent every time. Their appetizer sampler is a favorite, as well as the chicken shawarma wrap, and they make fantastic soups! You can occasionally luck out and get their "pizzas" which are mostly similar to a pide or khachapuri; they make one with falafel, cheese, and tomatoes that is outstanding! (I believe they are only available for lunch on weekdays.) Their market next door is also awesome, we usually order our food and then go over there for bottled drinks to have with our meal. They have a unique selection of international products, as well as freshly made breads and good quality produce, that we love...
Read moreHonestly this place is really good. I've been here 3x in a row for the past 2 weeks. I always ordered chicken kebab plate with tabouli and baklava and they're always amazing.. I'm not a fan of vegetable stew though so I've been substituting them with extra rice, I love their rice!. The chicken was really juicy and flavorful. Im always satisfied when I eat them. Today I ordered something different, I had kafta instead of chicken kebab. I'm not actually a fan since it's kinda dry and hard but the flavor is there! I'll just stick to my usual chicken kebab. You guys should also try their tabouli, it's really good and tangy! Overall, I love this place. The people who works here are always polite to me. I don't really have interaction with them since I always do takeout. But the family is very kind and hardworking every time I come to get food. Even the cute baby with the most beautiful eyes said hi to me...
