Fronimo's Greek Cafe — Restaurant in Tucson

Sure, I know the owners, when you go to a favorite place often you get to know the people as well as the menu. I also like to take a look at the reviews from time to time to see what other people think of the place, the people and the products. Some are real, others seem to be posted by friends of other restaurants who would like to think (wish) their place is better or people that just have to complain about nothing. I can only tell you that since I began frequenting the place last year I have enjoyed it every time I stop by (once or twice a month on the average). The food is as good and authentic as the people who work there. No, not all are actually Greek like the owners (yes, really from Crete!) but they all are top quality and it shows! I typically go for the Gyro Platter but treat myself to the Athenian Chicken from time to time. When I suggest a Lamb Shank dinner to my wife her eyes simply light up and when she is happy,...

I went into Fronimos tonight around 8:45 to grab a bite to eat. The restaurant states that it is open until 9:00pm so I figured I had a little time. I felt badly for going in so late, but they have always been so kind in the past about it. Tonight was a little different.

The young lady in the front was pleasant and recommended a few options. Upon taking my payment I overheard a woman’s voice in the kitchen state something along the lines of “Let me guess, she ordered for here.” I feel as if she said it loud enough for me to hear. I immediately felt uncomfortable and unwelcome and ate as quickly as possible.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! If you think this restaurant is good you're crazy! If you want good greek food go to PAPOULES by the foothills mall. After having the freshness and deliciousness of Papoules nothing compares to it...I ordered a salad with chicken here and it was disappointing. How can you mess up a salad? The chicken was gross and covered with old seasoning. The pita that comes with it tasted old, was hard, and tasted like nasty grease from warming it up on the flat stove top. The dressing for the salad was a red vinegar dressing and with a greek salad its supposed to be balsamic. It had no flavor! Yuck so disgusted. It was my first and last time coming to Fronimos.
