First time here. I was craving Mexican food and actually stopped at Cafe Molina, but they're now closed on Tuesdays, so I decided to try a new place. The place was empty when I got there and I was given a menu and told I could sit anywhere I wanted. Leo was my waiter, he's also the cook, and the owner, so he was wearing a lot of hats today, lol. I ordered the "El Tapitio", which is 3 shredded beef enchiladas with rice and beans. I also ordered the chicken soup, mistakenly thinking it was chicken tortilla soup, oops. The soup was just "okay" for my taste. Not bad, just really bland. Needed seasoning. It's just white meat chicken, a very weak broth, and big chunks of green and red bell peppers, with celery, onion, and cilantro. The enchiladas were very good. The beef was well seasoned and tender. There was a nice amount of cheese and enchiladas sauce covering them. I got a side of sour cream for them and that was the perfect add on for me. The rice and refried beans were good. Again, maybe a tad under seasoned, but that's just me. All in all, it was a good meal and I will return. I do have a couple of small criticisms that kept me from giving 5 stars though. As mentioned, a couple things were under seasoned for my taste, and mainly it was the soup that was a little disappointing. Had it not been for that I might not even bothered to mention the rice and refried beans. Also, Leo was very friendly and helpful, but once I got my food he pretty much disappeared. That said, he gets a pass because he was literally a 1 man show as far as I could tell. Bottom line: despite a couple minor things I definitely...

OH. MY GOSH! This place is bomb! Their food is SO good! It is typical Sonoran style, which I love. This may also be classified as Tucson style, but it is the typical 'Mexican' food you will find in Tucson, since we boarder Sonora, Mexico. I LOVE carne seca and theirs is DELICIOUS! Usually, it is wet, which I loathe, and full of tomatoes, which is no good either. Their is juicy, but the flavor is ridiculously good. Like, I'm driving from Marana on a regular basis and getting one to go, GOOD! My husband LOVES chicken mole and says theirs is also fantastic! I've also had a shredded beef taco, a cheese enchilada and both were good, but not fantastic, but they were 3 days old by the time I got to them. I don't like the rice, but my husband does. It is what he calls 'Seattle' or Washington rice. It's not tomato rice. It's yellow. My only complaint is that the beans don't come with a sprinkle of cheese on top. I love 'bean cheese'! The lady who runs the place is great. It's a family deal, you can tell. I highly, highly recommend! It looks tiny if you don't turn the corner, but they practically have a whole 'nother restaurant behind the bar! So if you go there and think it is 'crowded' it probably isn't! You're...

I was really excited to see they had sour cream enchiladas, less than a handful of restaurants still do. I ordered them with the caldo de queso. Sadly I was left disappointed with the dinner I received. The soup was salty, there were 4 potato chucks with a few slivers of green chili and onion, and a blob of melted cheese. The enchiladas looked good but after 3 bites I had to stop eating because the heat in the sauce was so much not even the sour cream could cool off my tongue and throat. Thinking I might just be a wimp I had 2 others try and they were on fire after a few bites as well. The sides were the highlight of the meal and the only reason I gave the food 2 stars. The tortilla was handmade and fresh and delicious. The rice was cooked to perfection and not stuck together like I've had at other establishments. The refried beans were definitely made in-house and not from a can. I will not be coming here again and I will make sure my friends and family are warned away as well. It really is sad because I wanted to love...

Leo’s was okay, but not great experience that we would be a regular. The chips are thick and the salsa had a good kick. In general, the food did Not have much flavor. My husband chimichanga was big and full of white meat chicken, but it was just cooked chicken, not flavored with seasoning or grilled anything. My cheese enchiladas red sauce reminded me of a childhood restaurant we used to go to that was a Mexican Buffet, a moment of good memories, but the food was not good enough to make new memories. A lot of locals and repeat customers as the staff seemed to chat with them, and hang longer at their tables. Our water glasses where never refilled and we sat a bit before catching the waitress attention to get our bill.

I went back to Leo's for lunch today, and got the mole enchiladas. The meal came with chips and a medium hot sauce. The enchiladas were shredded chicken that had been simmered in a flavorful broth and rolled up to corn tortillas. The mole sauce, was rich and chocolatey with a good depth of chili and spices. The rice, beans and some shredded lettuce was nothing special. The service at Leo's is always good and my food arrived promptly. The dinning area is roomy and we'll suited for families. The did have a vegetarian section on their menu for those that prefer it. I would have given Leo's a higher rating but the competition in Tucson is very high. I had no complaints and will go back again sometime.
