I've been here several times and I thought Margie's was going to be my new favorite breakfast place. Well unfortunately all that changed this morning. First of all both, the cook and the wait staff need to recognize the difference between crispy, well done, and burnt. I asked for well done not burnt. There is a big difference. A customer should not be served burnt home fries on the plate. Nasty burnt taste and I couldn't finish it.
But my biggest complaint has to do with this rude waitress apparently there every morning at 6:00 a.m. Running around frantically as if she ingested too much caffeine or methamphetamine. I wouldn't mind that but it's the rudeness that I refuse to tolerate. Argues with the customer and tells me 'I heard you order this". No you didn't hear me order that. I know exactly what I ordered and that's not what you brought me. I never ordered what you brought me in my life. And I've been around long enough. I don't know what you heard, or who you heard it from, (or maybe you just imagined it) but you need to listen to your customers more carefully. And even if the customer is wrong the customer is right. You don't argue with the customer if they say the order is wrong. After that her demeanor was very rude. For goodness sake put some napkin to dispencers on the tables. Sorry I won't be coming back.

Read moreThis is a great little spot. The place is much larger than it looks on the outside. It replaced bread and butter cafe. The menu is great as it has breakfast in the morning and does lunch at lunch time but does breakfast all day regardless. The breakfast menu is a classic diner one with shredded hash browns. The pies are a delight here. They have many different pie slices every day. I went to lunch with someone who ordered actual lunch and I got breakfast and they had everything available on the menu for both. The owner was our server and she was incredibly friendly, polite, and helpful. They were very busy at 1200 on a Tuesday. I would definitely go here again. Also, they have Cholula and Tabasco for those worried about hot sauces. I know there are a ton of mom and pop shop diners that serve breakfast, dinner, and pies and so many of them are good, but this one has heart and they stay very busy. I was extremely happy with portion sizes of my breakfast and lunch including the sides. You can always go to a well known spot like Denny's or IHOP but you just aren't going to get the same service and love in your food like a diner like Margie's. I will definitely...
Read moreTucked away in a quiet shopping center on the East side of Tucson is the Bread and Butter Cafe. Having visited the location further west, I started this experience with a true desire to have a great breakfast. We were almost immediately greeted by a very friendly waitress who brought us a refreshing glass of delicious water. We then ordered a ham and cheese omelet and for my partner a plate of corned beef hash and 2 eggs, scrambled. The omelet was paper thin with nondescript cheese and very fatty ham. The combination of container eggs, tasteless cheese and sub standard ham created an omelet that was best left on the plate and was. The corned beef hash was fine and the container eggs, scrambled, were satisfactory. With all the breakfast dining options in Tucson, this is an establishment that would do well to improve its quality thus encouraging patrons to consider a return visit. As it is for us, we will remember their omelet for quite a while. We do want to thank the waitress doing...
