This is the WORST VI in the entire United States. Period. I ordered pancakes with 2 strips of bacon & a scrambled egg with cheese. The pancakes didn't have much flavor but they were decently prepared. The bacon was limp and not even carmelized a tiny bit. The real kicker was the egg, it looked perfectly fine at first glance but my goodness how looks can be deceiving! I took one bite and it was like having raw egg mixed with an overwhelming amount of oil in my mouth. It was all I could do to find a napkin and spit out as much as that vile concoction as I could. I took a sip of water to calm my taste buds but unfortunately my belly didn't want anything to do with the vile egg or water so I literally had to run to the restroom and just let everything force it's way back up and out. Having to vomit is bad enough but now I'm in a public restroom having to worry about germs while I'm getting sick in a standing position because there's no way in heck I'm hugging public porcelain. I've eaten at a few VIs in different states and I have never once had this happen.
My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy and that was a nasty little mess as well. The gravy was extremely gelatinous, almost like someone made the gravy a day ago and never actually spent the time to made sure the gravy stays thick yet fluid and warm. The biscuits were very dense and yet mushy, it's very odd and artificial. Biscuits and gravy are a favorite in my home and my husband couldn't/wouldn't even eat a third of what he was served out of disgust. Thankfully he didn't touch his eggs before me so he was saved from that disaster.
Management tried to make it better by footing the bill and offering a free meal which we immediately turned down as neither my husband nor I will ever chance a meal here again.
Please take extreme caution when eating at this VI.
Btw, our server was a nice lady who was not part of the...

As a local business owner in Tucson, I’m appalled by the service my fiancée and I experienced during our visit today at 10 a.m. We’ve been to this location several times and have always had good service—until now.
Our server, a young man with a long ponytail, had previously helped us without issue and was friendly. However, today was a different story. I ordered steak and eggs, specifying that I wanted the steak cooked medium. When the food was brought to the table, I cut into the steak only to find it was well done with very little pink.
I called the server over to point out the issue. Instead of addressing the mistake, he looked at me as though I had done something wrong. When I explained the steak was overcooked, his response was, “Do you want it medium rare?” I clarified that I wanted it cooked medium, as I had originally ordered. He then asked, “So you want it cooked more?” This back-and-forth continued, with the server seemingly more interested in arguing his point than resolving the issue.
To make matters worse, I even showed him a picture on my phone of what a medium steak should look like, and his response was, “I was trained differently, and so were my cooks.” Any competent cook or server should know the difference between medium and well done. Instead of offering to fix the issue or replace the steak, he insisted on being right.
Even the people seated near us noticed and agreed with my frustration, laughing at how absurd the situation had become. When I brought this up with the manager, they too couldn’t understand why the server acted this way.
This experience left me confused, frustrated, and disappointed. I hope the staff at this location can receive better training to avoid similar incidents...
Read moreThe food here is excellent. Roger is fun and always brings a great sense of humor to the table.
edit Usually the above review is true. But we went again today, 10/14/2025. (been about a monthly ritual now) I always get the sirloin. Today the meat was as tough as shoe leather and tasted about the same. It chewed like bubble gum! Even A1 couldn't save this cut of meat, it was awful. If the chef couldn't tell this was a bad cut, they need to get out of the kitchen and try waiting tables, they are not a true chef. I knew the second he laid it on the table. The gravy on the potatoes was as runny as water and tasted like sawdust. If it was scratch made with roux, it was done so poorly that I don't think even I could have fixed it. If they didn't use roux but did a starch gravy (not the healthiest but ok) they didn't cook it properly. Frankly it tasted like when I used baking powder instead of starch (grabbed the wrong one). The Broccoli was ok, but for me, that was all they got right. I couldn't eat half my meal, I took it home and fed it to my dogs. They were in heaven I was mad enough to chew nails and spit barbed wire.
My wife got the French toast this time, since when is French toast made with Italian bread and so lightly battered with egg that it looks like just toast???? Is this the fake eggs that someone else was complaining about? It was so bad that she couldn't eat more than one piece. As usual, my wife never complains, but I do.
I think Roger may be going deaf, he was so loud when talking to customers I's sure they heard him on the other side of the restaurant. Keep in mind, this is not the norm here. I will still go back unless this happens again. I won't change the...
