Got one chance to make a great first impression and this panaderia blew it. Any panadero can make pan dulce look good, but that’s the only positive thing I can say about this place. Either I was sold at least day old bread or the panadero needs to brush up on some baking skills. The pan was extremely dry and stiff. It also lacked any flavor. I was holding out hope Tucson would get a good addition to the panadería scene, but I continue to wait. If you come here, all I can say is buy one piece of pan ducle and try it before you commit to buying more.

A great bakery with great folks running it and a great selection of pan, dulces, mucho pastelles, tortillas - all fresh and delicious at a reasonable cost - everyday! Just south of Santa Cruz Church on 6th Ave in So. Tucson. I take #18 bus from Ronstadt Center DT every chance I get. Easy ride and well worth it. Highly recommended. A hidden gem and a Blessing to Santa Rita Community. Gracias a todos!

We were in town on vacation and stumbled across this panederia in search of pan dulce. What a find! We met the owner and got to hear about his passion and journey in the industry! A true gem! We stocked up on pan dulce, pan artisenal and tortillas for our venture back home to Chicago!

The building is easy to miss, if your not paying attention. It looks like if it's closed from the outside. The building is kinda run down, the inside is a bit plan but functional. I didn't see any options to eat inside, this place looks like it's "to go" only. I didn't see any parking for the bakery, I had to park at the church. Masks not required, staff was unmasked. They accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX and they have tap to pay so google and apple pay too, there is a fee to pay with card, at the time of this visit is was 0.70¢. The staff was super friendly and new about their products, she took time to answer questions and never seemed annoyed. Pricing is great for the quality. I paid about 1.50$ per item. everything that I got had treated great! Not too sweet not too heavy. Over all it was a...

I was really looking forward to LeCaves famous potato batter glazed doughnuts, only to find that its no longer LeCaves!! WHAT?!?!? When the hell did that happen?!?!?

So I shook off my initial shock off and went in only to find that they hadn't made ANY doughnuts!! It was already 8am!! Shouldn't they start making them at like 2am?!?!

So as not to completely throw this place under the bus, I ended up picking up a dozen Mexican pastries i.e. pinapple, apple, and raspberry empanadas, cream cheese rollitos topped with almond slivers which were all...

BEST CONCHAS EVER!! My boyfriend and I love Mexican sweet bread and often like to enjoy one with our daily routine coffee. I've passed by Mendez Bakery daily and finally decided to stop in and try them out. All I can say WOW!! We got a variety of pan dulce and the quality was amazing. I definitely recommend t!hem and will definitely be my new favorite spot for gre delicious pan dulce. Whatever you're doing Mendez Bakery, you're doing...
