Panda Express — Restaurant in Tucson

I typically don't take the time to review Fast Food restaurants but this Panda Express has certainly earned a five-star review. The combination of cleanliness, attentive service, and great food makes it standout and other places could learn from what they are doing there. If you're looking for Panda Express and this location is a little further awaybots worth the extra travel time. I highly recommend visiting this location!

It’s one of the cleanest fast-food restaurants I have ever encountered. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the spotless dining area and well-organized serving stations. It’s clear that cleanliness is a top priority here, and it truly enhances the overall dining experience.

What stood out to me even more was the level of engagement and thoughtfulness displayed by the staff. You can tell that the management treats their employees well, as everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there—a rare find in the fast-food industry. The team was attentive and proactive, ensuring that everything was in order and that customers were satisfied.

On 06/18/24 my husband and I decided to grab a quick dinner at this location across from our apartment after a busy day. He got green beans and chicken, hot orange chicken, and chow mein, while I had Beijing beef and chow mein and ate some of his orange chicken. Within 30 minutes of finishing his meal, he started feeling sick and ended up throwing up all night.

Things got worse, and we spent the next day in the hospital. Even now, as I write this early in the morning on 06/20/24, he’s still throwing up and having bad diarrhea. We were woken up around 3 a.m. because he got sick in bed (this happened twice), so we had to get up to clean the sheets, and now our mattress is contaminated leaving us nowhere to sleep for the time being.

I didn’t get sick, and the only thing he ate that I didn’t was the chicken and green beans. This makes me think that food item wasn’t prepared properly, was contaminated, or the employees didn’t wash their hands properly (they weren’t wearing gloves while they were serving the food).

I came in at about 11:20am. They only had half of the entrees available. Meaning before lunch rush they had prepared nothing. Unless I just wanted sides I had to wait 10 minutes. Now you would think they would be trying to get the good out but instead I watched one cook work while the other made his lunch. The one working was only making 1 entree while there were at least 5 empty. Can’t door dash because they give you what’s left in the bowels and make fresh for in store customers. I give up on this place.

Edit: 4/18/22. Made the mistake of trying this place again and pretty much the same. Out of egg rolls and ordered spring rolls. Had to wait for those since I accepted the 3 hr old Angus Steak. As I waited I watched the one in charge start to box up all the spring rolls, while the one who took my order seemed oblivious to her promise of getting my spring rolls. I go up and notify the guy boxing all the spring rolls so I dont have to wait for the 1 cook to get around to dropping more.
