the reason I gave this place three stars is because even though the food is delicious the service from the workers kind of suck. When you get there it's just a unorganized crowd in the front with no room to stand. it's almost impossible to social distance at this place so that's why I gave it three stars. also you never know who's next to order or who has already ordered and who is just waiting for their food to pay.you will find yourself standing behind a line of people that have already ordered when you still need to order just to come to find out that you need to move to another line and wait just as long. the way that they take orders is super confusing and I think it isinefficient because one person will take the order do the entire order then come and call you and you have to pay but it takes forever for somebody to complete an order so they don't call the next person in line to place their order until they're done with the previous order. So so there is a lot of wait time for your food because they take so long. also another reason why I had to only give three stars is because if you pay with a credit card or debit card they charge you to use your debit card or credit card I think they charge a whole dollar just to process the transaction when they're already making money off of you so I don't agree with that and I think that is illegal by the way..I would recommend getting their onion rings because their french fries are just a big bag of greasy sliced potatoes with no flavor so greasy that by the time you get home the bag will have torn because of how greasy and wet it is.. the only thing I can say is that the hot dogs are amazing they're chilly is delicious and I do recommend getting the hot because I think the hot does have more flavor but it's not that hot. I like the hot over the mild any day. It's a great hot dog for such a simple piece of food I mean they don't make any special buns or anything they just buy the bag buns from the from the supplier and the weenies I don't even know if they're all beef or not maybe they are I didn't know but the chili is the icing of the cake that's what makes patch chili dog a patch chili dog is their recipe. another thing that sucks about this place is they're parking is horrible there has been there has been several times where I had to just leave and go somewhere else because I didn't want to park a mile away down the street on the side what they can do is they can create additional parking in the back where there's plenty of space but they have it just fenced off for no real...
Read moreI've always loved eating at Pat's Chili Dogs since I was a little girl.. I went with my sister just a couple of days ago and the Chili Dogs (hot, with onions) are still amazing as they always have been. I noticed that Pat's squigglie fries taste even better from what I remember them tasting like before. (Note: "Squigglie Fries is NOT what they're officially called. If you were to visit Pat's Chili Dogs & ask for "Squigglie" Fries the employee taking your order is probably going to look at you funny 🤨 "Squigglie" Fries is just what I've always referred to them as because, in my opinion, the word "squiggly" describes Pat's Chili Dog Fries perfectly. Pat's Fries are too Curly〰️ to be considered just Regular Fries and they're too Straight➖ to be considered "Curly" Fries). You'll have to try them to understand what I mean and I'm almost positive by the time you're done, you'll be calling them "squigglie" fries too 😜 It's sad that Pat's finally closed & locked off the "Dining Area". Pat's classic "Dining Area" with the crazy blowing fan inside that was always on to keep us cool. I kinda miss it 😢 My sister ordered a Burger and it was definitely her mistake in assuming the burger she ordered would actually be a Chili Burger but aside from that, the burger appeared very plain. It was literally just two small hamburger buns and a ground beef patty. Since it turns out my sister ordered a Hamburger & NOT a Chili Burger, we were super disappointed that her Hamburger didn't even come with the normal stuff that a standard/regular, non-specialty, hamburger would come with like lettuce, tomato, maybe cheese and even pickles.. maybe? 🤷 Not our idea of a $4 Burger.. Not at all. The employee service is always great at Pat's Chili Dogs. It appears that the Staff always tries to have fun while they work, which I love and they also tend to stay busy which I truly admire from a team of...
Read moreAnother bookmark down, I teeter between 3 and 4 stars simply due to this joint, standing the test of time. I remember bookmarking Pat's given it has been a Tucson staple for 40 plus years. I went with general expectations and realized we are talking fast food not Michelin star. I love a good cheeseburger and onion rings.
We pulled up on a Sunday around lunch time and it was busy. They got people through the order line fast, in fact as busy as it looked most people were waiting on food. We ordered Cheeseburgers, Fries, Onion Rings and a "famous" Chili Cheese dog. Order took about 10-15 minutes which was not bad given how many people were standing around.
The Cheeseburger was okay, not great and not bad for fast food. We ate there at one of the outdoor tables since, you know, if you don't eat fries and rings right away they are cold and soggy. The fries were this enormous pile of soggy potatoes. My husband said they had them all premade (he was watching through the window) in a heat box thing and grabbed as needed. Onion Rings same deal, soggy. The Chili Cheese dog... I am not big into these, not like my husband but I wanted to try a bite. It was okay, he ordered the spicy one so it was flavorful. Was not a fan of the cold american cheese slice poking out of it... as I had thought the cheese was melted? The hotdog itself was barely warm.
I am guessing by the reviews, maybe this place is hit or miss with hot flavorful food - and fresh fries/rings. I am really glad we tried it. I will likely never go back, partly since it is across town for me. I could see this being an amazing place to go after you have been drinking with friends and need late...
