I thought the decor was interesting. I thought I might even want to try the food sometime. Until I went with friends for Karaoke tonight. The Bartender was unfriendly from the moment we sat at the bar. I ordered water as I was the designated driver and I didn't want sugar or caffeine. I tipped the surley Bartender $1.00 since she looked unhappy with my drink order, hoping to lighten her mood and let her know that although I was drinking water only, I was still going to tip her well. It did not help. She was still hateful. My friends noticed it as well. She was no friendlier to them. I sang a song and returned to the bar where I was promptly informed that if I was going to participate in Karaoke, I had to buy something. It was not conveyed in an even remotely sensitive way, nor was it posted anywhere that I saw. She suggested I buy a soda. I don't drink soda. I am the driver so I can't drink alcohol. It is after 9pm so I have already eaten. I struggle to think of something I actually want. So I ask if they have ice tea. I dont really want it, but since I am "Required" to buy something now that I have sung, I ask. They did. $2.50, Yes $2.50 for bad ice tea. Then I tell my friends what she said to me and she becomes argumentative. Am I happy? No. Will I return to Shooters? No. Unless of course they ditch the Sourpuss... I don't know her name because she never bothered to interact with me other than her out and out hatefulness. Oh, and if you are going to force people to "buy something" in order to be "allowed" to "participate" in Karaoke, you should post a sign or have your Karaoke person put it on their song cards... That was the most ridiculous "Requirement" I have ever heard! Highway Robbery! I have sung in many Karaoke Shows and have never been "charged" to sing. They are usually just happy to have singers... The Bartender completely ruined the experience. Perhaps she needs to find a job she likes. Clearly she isn't happy in her...
Read moreI got to say this is the second time I've been to this place and had a great experience. First of all it's a little hidden so don't give up if you pass it. As you first walk in they have a nice big patio area if you're a smoker. Once you go inside the decor seems like something out of Grease or Mediterranean it's a pretty unique architectural style. It's a pretty big place they got a lot of tables as if once they were more of a restaurant than a bar. But what I have to really tell you about is their food. Their food is amazing. I ordered the burger with the green chilies in it and I have to tell you that as of right now it's the best burger in Tucson. So I highly recommend the burger. I want to go back and try some other menu items to let you know if they're good but they do have a pretty good selection basic bar food such as steak burgers fish baskets chicken baskets if they can do their burgers as good as they did for me I'm sure all their other food has to be just as good. They have pool tables they have shuffleboard they have pinball machines and some other arcade games to entertain yourself. They also have touched tunes jukebox so you can play music to your heart's content from your phone. The service was great there was only one employee and it was pretty busy but we did not feel like we weren't being paid attention to at all. The bartender guy was bartending and serving the dining room all at once and taking care of the patio people as well. Well done mate. I highly recommend this place please give it a shot and post your reviews. I want to go back on the weekends or at night just to see if it gets more of a bar atmosphere I went during the day and it was more of a food restaurant atmosphere but there were people drinking at the bar this seems like a lot of regulars go here but we felt...
Read moreWe were there a little after 4 on Saturday, Nov 4th. One table on patio of people just cashing out. No one else but a couple regulars sitting at a table drinking and chatting. A smattering of patrons inside. The waitress (Allura )looked right at us and went inside. After about 15 minutes we went inside to order drinks. She said she didn’t see us in spite of making eye contact and walking right past her at an empty courtyard. She also went into the building with another waitress that’s outside by our table, was in there for another 10-15 minutes. Then she cashed out the regulars at their table, brought them their receipt and chatted with them before she finally brought our salads… to THEIR table. Still, no one else on the patio and not busy. Never asked if we needed another drink. Finally got our steaks, which were good. No sour cream but cook offered to go get us some if we wanted to wait for 15 more minutes. We did not want to wait and have cold food just to have sour cream. At this point we’d been there almost an hour. Then we were approached several times about paying our bill and wanting to take our plates so she could close out her shift while we were still eating. Never had salt and pepper on our table, had to ask and wait again for steak sauce and never did get a second beer. We have been going here every year since 2013, on the night before Die de los Muerto Procession. We have at times been disappointed with the meal (not often) but kept coming back because the wait staff has always been super friendly and we tipped them very well. Both my sister and I have spent our careers in the service industry and appreciate good service. But this time, we have decided to move on to another location. Maybe management needs to be on the...
