Not worth the price. I ordered ahead of time from their online menu which stated that the 3 meat entree (Mashauii) was $25... Which is already steep to begin with considering everything else is almost $10 less. When I got to the restaurant to pay the plate was run up as $30. I explained what was stated online and she pretty much just passed the blame on the 3rd party menu website (directly linked from the restaurant website) saying that they've tried to have them update the price to what they have on their printed menus in-house .... But at the same time if they're not doing what you asked them to, why keep doing business with them, and keep false advertising and misleading customers and be indifferent when confronted about it? Regardless, I paid for the food and needless to say it was not $30 worth of food not was it $30 worth of flavor. The babaganoush tasted like straight up chemicals, I don't know if it was canned babaganoush and it absorbed some of the tin flavor or whatever, but it did not taste anything like eggplant or any version of babaganoush that have had. The three meats were okay, well cooked, not dry but nothing great. I will say that the basmati rice was nice and fluffy and the hummus was pretty good. I love Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food and seek it out when I'm ever in an area that has it.... And this was a total disappointment,...
Read moreI enjoy coming to this traditional Turkish foods restaurant. This is not really a restaurant for vegetarians. It's centered around meat. I ate so quickly I forgot to take pictures. This is also not a gluten free restaurant, so as a customer and a foodie who appreciates Turkish foods, I eat here. They do the best they can to keep the foods traditional, although we are in America and not Turkey.
I saw the comment of another customer, who had eaten here the same day, and spoke lies, about the staff being unprofessional, also having dogs that were in the restaurant squeaking, and utter lie! I happened to be dining on that exact day. The dogs, were quiet and small dogs sleeping in their doggy crates. They were completely zipped inside. The other two people who this women referred to as standing around, had nothing to do with the restaurant, as they were visiting someone. Also, their rant about not eating here, because there are not gluten free options, it's a traditional Turkish kebab house! Hello! Go eat somewhere else, is what I thought. Gluten free dishes in Turkey, yeah right!
Too out right lie! I checked and found this chick makes bad reviews at several restaurants in the area. Obviously, it's not the food.
I'm just a customer who feels that if you make a review make it an honest review!
The food at kebab...
Read moreEdit: the food taste SIGNIFICANTLY improved once the semester started. Totally recommend now. 10/10. Still wouldn't recommend ordering the Ayran though.
This could easily be the worst restaurant I've tried in the US. I ordered Ayran, Tabbula, Chicken Shawarma and Mint Tea. The ayran was the worst I've ever tasted in my entire life (and I've been drinking it since as long as I can remember). I bet even an expired ayran wouldn't taste as bad as theirs. It was so bad I couldn't even finish just the quarter of the glass. The shawarma was OK, not bad but not that good either. The tabbula wasn't bad, but the additions (lemon juice & olive oil) weren't put proportionately, giving it a sour taste. The mint tea wasn't good. Don't try it. If you still want to go to this restaurant you can try the Iraqi tea, which I assume should be good since the restaurant is Iraqi. I'm never going again. Just a waste of money and time.
I'm giving it 2 stars because the waitress was really nice, friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the location of the restaurant is great. The outside view is amazing and the "diwaniya" inside is neat too.
Edit: if you hate someone, invite him to this restaurant and order...
