Was out on an adventure with my bestest friend and we happened to try out the Sonoran House while downtown tucson driving around.
There was a variety of options for people of all appetites and persuasions. We tried the appetizer " charred sourdough with guajillo prickly pear jam" the dish tasted excellent overall but the guajillo really stood out in a unique fashion; It was the perfectly balanced flavor between sweet and sour. My extended family has a history of battling diabetes so I sometimes have troubling time finding items that are not excessively sweetened artificially but still satisfy my craving. This prickly pear jam did exactly that with a surprising blend of smooth flavor.
Many additional thanks to our bartender Maddie for taking good care of us. All the beverages were perfectly prepared and mixed. My all time favorite Irish whisky "Tullamore dew" was out of stock andthey suggested another Irish whiskey that was almost as delicious called "Teeling small batch Dublin import". It wasnt as tasty as my personal favorite but still stood out as a unique choice that i had never tried previously.
Fair warning: This establishment currently is fairly new and carries its own fair share of inherent hiccups in timeliness and production. if you are willing to try something new with some patience its bound to prove to be...
Read moreI visited Sonoran House this weekend and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. I asked the cashier for a drink recommendation based on my usual preferences and took her suggestion. However, the drink I received tasted like just milk, there was hardly any coffee flavor.
I went back and asked if I could get an extra shot of espresso to balance it out, and while she did add one, I was charged an additional $4 for it. Even after that, the coffee still didnât taste right.
So I returned AGAIN and let her know I still wasnât happy with the drink and asked if I could just get something else instead. She said okay..... but then tried to charge me again. At that point, I was like WHAT. Iâd already spent $11 on a coffee I couldnât even drink, and her attitude became so rude when I told her it was bad.........
Cute spot, but sadly I wonât be...
