We entered the reception area and there were two persons standing behind the desk talking, then they walked off to do something. We had a 7pm reservation for my wifes birthday. I believe we must have waited 5 minutes for someone to greet us. I think it was a waiter that came up to us and askes if we had been helped. I said no and he said someone would be right with us and walked off. Another 5 min goes by and the greeter asked us if we had a reservation and i gave him my name, he looked it up in his system and said yes Benavidez and said wait one second and walked off to do something. I saw him scrambling to get a table set up in the dinning room. Another 5 minutes goes by and he comes back and there is another couple waiting by us, He helps them and checks them in. We wait. Then he walks us back to our booth table. I noticed that the chair has a 12 inch square of black duct tape on it. I didnt want to make a scene, because i wanted this experience to be special for my wife. We ordered our food, it took along time for it to come. Even our waiter apologized to us for the wait time. By the way he was very good! I was impressed by his kindness. We got our food and the waiter asked me to cut the center of my steak to see if it was cooked medium, i did and it was red raw, he asked if i wanted him to take it back and cook it a bit more, i said yes and he apologized and took it back to the kitchen. My wifes salmon was getting cold and i said please go ahead and eat your food. A bit awkward her eating and i watching. My steak came back and it looked like it had been microwaved. Flat and greyish looking. You could tell it wasnt the five star steak. The manager came over to us and mentioned to us that she was aware of what had happened. The deserts came and was very good. The waiter was great and made our visit the best that he was able. It was our first time at Sullivans. I picked Sullivans because it was supposed to be a very special night for my wife's birthday. We made the best of it. However i was disappointed. Definitely not a five star. Thank you for listening!

Sadly this was our first visit at Sullivan's and most likely will not come back unless changes will be made. First things first, we arrived with a line at the host stand on a Tuesday evening. We checked in with our reservation however the hostess got distracted from a server who was telling her to give the previous 2-stop to someone else. About 8 minutes later she came back and finally sat us down after dealing with the distraction and sitting another party that came after us. From the beginning, I suspected our experience wasn't going to be good. Providing best experience at the host stand is crucial, it defines the restaurant's personality. Unfortunately, it was ugly. Stephanie, our server for the night, was great! Ordered couple of things that were not available - which is not her fault. But made our dining experience not so great. Bottle of a specific wine- OUT. Oysters- OUT. Placed order of appetizers of jumbo shrimp cocktail and seared ahi tuna. Ahi was delicious! Great sear good sauce! Cocktail shrimp was prepared horribly. The outside part of the shrimp was hard. Almost like the skin was left on but it was the meat that harden from either over iced or was pan seared first then cooled? Not something you want in a shrimp cocktail. We were able to replace the shrimp cocktail for shrimp eggrolls which made a big difference. Thank you to the lady manager that compensated our apps due to our experience. Our main entree was good. Thankfully the steaks were cooked at the right temperature. Bone in ribeye cowboy cut was delicious as well as the 8oz New York strip as part of the Sure Thing. As a 'high-end' steakhouse, we definitely were hoping for a better service & quality of food than what we had experienced.

We are visiting Tucson and came here after doing a search for best steak. The food is outstanding. It was our first time eating A5 wagyu and it was exceptional. Unlike any other beef I’ve ever eaten. The seasoning was divine. Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious, and the peanut butter pie was so good I almost cried! The beef Wellington bites are large. They were just okay for me. Service was attentive, prompt, and considerate. My one complaint - we asked for wine recommendations, and the server asked for our price range. I said $150. I had two I was considering, but he said someone else had the Wagyu earlier in the week and had a wine they paired with it they said went really well. He pointed to it on the menu - I saw it, saw $75 and thought it was a steal. When the bill came, it was not the $75 bottle. It was the bottle underneath that was $255, well above the $150 limit I had indicated. Maybe I’m a conspiracy theorist, but it seemed underhanded. He scanned the wine list for several minutes looking for it. Pointing vaguely at a bottle in our price range but “actually” pointing at the much more expensive one (the lines are small and close together). So the bill was $180 more than we expected. I didn’t complain because we drank the wine and it was good, but it left a bit of a sour feeling at the end. I can’t help but wonder if all that “scanning” of the menu was looking for a cheaper wine right next to a more expensive wine. I hate to think that way, but he knew our limit was $150. Other than that, everything was exceptional. I’d go again but I’d select my own wine or I would ask the server to tell me the exact name of the wine they were suggesting

My family and I came here because we wanted to have a unique experience for Father's Day. Something to treat ourselves and splurge a little, make some memories. I was completely let down. From the very beginning we were treated less than, with employees following my SO and sister into the bathroom for some suspicion or other. After being seated and bathroom breaks were completed, we were given our menus by our waiter and asked if we would be ordering any wine. We replied no and asked for water and iced tea with lemon. After perusing the menu we decided on Wellington bites for an appetizer, a 16oz Ribeye for me and crab stuffed shrimp for my Amazing SO. We paired that with sauteed baby spinach and white cheddar & bacon au gratin potatoes that we would share. The Wellington bites are basically breaded hamburger helper minus the pasta. When I read the description in the menu, I envisioned a bite size beef Wellington. Instead I bit into breaded meatloaf. Tasty, but disappointing. Especially more so considering the $15 price tag We eagerly awaited our meal and were still optimistic despite the service so far. At last our waiter arrived with the main course and it looked very appetizing. We were once again asked if we would like to order any wine, to which we replied in the negative. Our waiter refilled our waters and ice tea respectively, asked if there was anything else we needed and left us to enjoy our long anticipated meal. My steak was awesome, juicy and cooked just right. The crab stuffed shrimp was very good as well. While eating, someone besides our waiter approached and asked once again, if we would like to order any wine. We once again replied no. She then said " So you're not going to be ordering wine", huffed and proceeded to take all the wine glasses off the table. Apparently not ordering wine, is a grave sin in this establishment. We continued our meal uninterrupted and forgotten. The au gratin potatoes were excellent. The sauteed baby spinach resembled a mass of weeds, smothered in oil and peppers, something you might expect to see if you were playing "restaurant" with a toddler. It tasted like you might imagine. Our meal complete, our waiter returned after remembering we were there and asked if we would like some dessert. ( The word had spread that we were not ordering wine) We replied no thank you and asked for the check. Our bill was $335 for 5 people. While the steak was great, I can honestly say I have had better at other steakhouses for much less than $50 and they included the sides. Each side was an additional $11. The stuffed crab shrimp was very good, but not worth the $32 price tag. My advice is to skip this spot and avoid the disappointment. As for making memories. My fondest memory of this place,...

Zero stars would be more appropriate.

I'll be sharing more details with corporate but in short NYE 2022 was a disaster. It actually was, by far, the worst dining experience I've had in my 45 years of life.

The corporate model of booking reservations placed this staff in a no win situation and leadership should be ashamed of themselves for setting the restaurant up for failure.

In October we made a reservation for 8pm on December 31st. We weren't taken to our table until 9:45pm. We weren't the only ones with this issue either. Most of the guests we were speaking to while waiting had to wait 1.5 to 2 hours after their reservation time to be seated. Even after we were seated, it was obvious that the staff was overwhelmed and not equipped to handle the evening. We didn't receive our entrees until 11:15pm and had to send them back for being undercooked.

A few notable issues: Sullivan's wine cellar temperature control is either broken or set too high for proper wine storage. We ordered a nice Pinot Noir and it was served warmer than it should be

the Wedge salad with Applewood smoked bacon ($3 extra) was a joke. It was served at room temperature and the tomatoes were as pale of red as you can possibly get. The bacon crumbles looked like they were out of the Costco brand bag of bacon bits.

I ordered a New York and received a vein cut. My wife ordered a Filet Mignon and she received a cut from the butt end. Neither cut is acceptable for the price they are charging.

the kitchen staff were not all wearing hats and when my wife received her meal (after it was cooked to proper temperature) there was a hair on her plate. We gave up at this point and boxed up the meat to take home to the dog.

The staff was aware that the experience and product they provided was not acceptable and graciously discounted our bill. For 2 guests our bill was supposed to be $375 before tip. The quality of food and overall experience was no where near that level.

What was most disappointing is due to our busy schedules, we don't get to go out for dinner very often so we made a reservation at what we thought would be a quality restaurant. Unfortunately we were wrong and we now know to not dine at Sullivan's again.

I've been in hospitality for almost 30 years, with many of them spent as a server/manager in a high end restaurant. I know there are nights when things just don't go right and I always give the staff the benefit of the doubt. I don't like complaining. I don't like leaving bad reviews. Last night didn't just go wrong, it was the result of the profit driven corporate mindset instead of a premier customer experience in a dining establishment.

Shame on the ownership...

I had a pretty bad experience several months ago in which they were out of everything I ordered, and I left and went elsewhere. I went tonight with a good friend after a long day at work hoping they'd redeem themselves, but nope, it was awful! The drinks, bread, and salads were fine but not amazing. However, the entrees were a disaster! My chicken was not cooked all the way. We sent it back and waited for a new one. The second try wasn't cooked either. Pink chicken is not ok nor is it safe! Also, both chicken dishes arrived with a very large amount of melted butter poured over the dish which made everything look greasy and fatty. They agreed the chicken was once again undercooked and suggested we try something else. I ordered a filet medium. Server said so bright pink throughout? And I said, yes... perfect. It came out well done with just a slight amount of red in the very extreme center. That very center that was closer to medium well IS ALL I WAS ABLE TO EAT as the rest was try and totally cooked through... what a crime! The mashed potatoes were so overly buttery that neither of us ate them. We each had one spoonful, and that was enough. They just tasted like fat and dairy. As a potato lover, I can't recall ever doing that in my life. In fact, after sitting for just a few minutes, they solidified into a hard, solid mass due to the amount of fat! My friend's salmon was simply pathetic both in taste and look. I saw another review on here saying the same thing with a picture to prove it. It was this thin wimpy cut plopped onto a plate with some REALLY overcooked and chewy asparagus that had turned almost yellow. It looked like it was an unfinished dish. She didn't want to make a fuss but was very unhappy with the look, texture, and taste. We felt cheated. She ate hers before my second chicken came to the table and then had to sit there and watch as I sent that back and waited for the murdered steak to arrive. The server and manager explained they were having kitchen staff issues and that many of the other tables around us also sent food back. One table near us with 6 or 7 ladies sent back three overcooked filets. There were other issues too that I won't get into, but this is just unacceptable. They ultimately comped my meal and one round of drinks. However, with tip, we still paid $100. A total ripoff and waste of money! They should be embarrassed. I can't imagine they can continue on in...
