I've never written a review and it has taken me 2 weeks to finally write this one. Mainly because it has still kept bothering me. First let me start out by saying I've been to the canyon crown about 6 times. We moved from Seattle a year and a half ago and were excited to find a place we loved. 2 weeks ago changed it all. The service was literally the absolute worst. It was about 2pm not busy at all and from sit down to when I paid the bill it was over 2 hours! A half an hour of which we we were waiting to even give our order. Finally when he got around to taking our order I ordered a canyon crown "speciality drink" lemon drop which was supposed to be made with deep eddy lemon vodka and have a sugar rim. I watched the bartender who moved at the pace of a snail proceed to ask her group of 3 friends at the end of the bar how to make it! I got the cocktail and my daughter got a beer after which we waited nearly 20 minutes at least for (mind you not busy at all!) The bartender was more interested in her friends than anyone else in the place. The waiter....well who knows where he was! So next...ordered food. I got the buffalo chicken salad (1st time if ordered that) and my daughter got a wedge salad (I love them, they are usually always delicious). Well they were warm from sitting under the lights (I guess) for probably over 30 minutes! Drink tasted hideous, beer was good (how can you screw that up). Once the waiter got around to bringing us our salad mine wasn't bad, it's nice for the chicken to be warm but the wedge was disgusting warm and my daughter barely ate any of it. Needless to say by that point wasn't going to order anything more so asked for my bill. Our drinks were gone we were clearly done with the meal but it took at least another 30 minutes for my bill to come to me and we were never during any of that "waiting" time asked if we wanted anything else! Again not busy AT ALL!. It was SO disappointing and the most unfortunate part is I loved the place the 5 other times I've been there. They lost our business because of terrible staff. My daughter and son-in- law just moved here from Vegas and that was her first time in. Terrible terrible first impression and they are in their 30s and go out a lot, so they have lost their business and the business of their friends that they would have met up with there! I am so sad this happened. As I said I've never written a review, in fact I've never complained, I'm an excellent tipper and always have the idea that everyone can have a bad day. I think I proceeded to do this review because I'm just so disappointed. It was going to be my "go-to" place for sure. The staff did not have a bad day they just were not interested in their customers at all! Side note: got the bill...smirnoff was the vodka my lemon drop was made with and of course they didn't tell me they were out of deep eddy. Unfortunately we heard another server tell a table next to us they were out of deep eddy gee I wish we would have...
Read moreThis rating is due in part to our experience with Erin and her staff when we had my husband's 50th birthday party there this past January. Wow! From the moment I contacted the restaurant inquiring about the possibility of having the party there to the actual event, I was impressed with how accommodating and kind they all were to us! I had originally thought we would have around 30 people, but as the day approached, the number increased to 50 people! Normally they don't take parties off that size, but without a beat Erin made it work and even sent a drawing of a floorplan of how the tables would be set up! I almost expected her to cancel us, but she still moved forward with a positivity and sweetness that all service industry people should have! She even created custom drink tickets with my husband's name on them, as I was covering the first round of drinks. It was the little things and the big things that will keep us coming back to this restaurant! When we all started arriving for the party, the servers assigned to us we're super friendly, ALWAYS kind and gave us great customer service! We laughed with them and joked with them and they remembered our names and where we sat... Even when we moved from table to table they were right there making sure we had everything we needed!! I know I'm saying a lot already, but I can't tell you how impressed we all were with everything about this event! And the food!! It was better than when we'd eaten there last! I HIGHLY recommend the Canyon's Crown to anyone and we will definitely continue to love everything about this pub! Thank you for such an epic experience that were all still taking about and can't...
Read moreInitially I was a disbeliever I believed the British had no place in the US of A. HOWEVER, I was sorely mistaken. I began my evening dining with a delicious treat of soft savory salty warm pretzels accompanied with some gooey cheese sauce. HOWEVER, they also came with some spicy english mustard. I having my reservations about the spice levels of the otherwise culinary inept Brits scoffed at the mention of the word "spicy". So I took a massive glob of mustard upon my pretzel instantly upon inserting it into my gob. I was overwhelmed with an unholy blast of horseradish (aka paint remover) up my nose I had a couple flashbacks too of my youth as well. Just to make sure I took another massive glob, yes indeed horseradish (delicious taste of battery acid). I continued my late night meal by testing the quintessential British delicacy of Fish and Chips. There is nothing quite like freshly battered, crispy, fried fish accompanied by some lightly seasoned French fries (chips). Feeling rather chuffed I thought topping things off with some sticky toffee pudding would be delightful. It was just bread pudding. Overall I would say I had a truly royal experience the British can indeed...
