As you know, I'm addicted to those Royal NY cheesecake blizzards. I don't often go to other Dairy Queens except for the one on 22nd Street. I ended up at the Tanque Verde location because it happened to be close to my destination. This was last night, Sunday July 2nd. The staff were friendly but my blizzard had very little strawberries in it, no graham crackers and almost no cheesecake chunks. I was annoyed by this, paying $10 for basically straight vanilla ice cream, but had no time to complain, I was in a hurry. So I give 3 stars because the staff was friendly but I think there needs to be better training for staff members if they're handing out certain flavors that don't necessarily contain any of the flavor.
About 3 weeks ago I wrote a 3 Star review (above) that was generous, in my opinion at the time. Well, I've been there several times since this review, like more than several times, ugh man I'm stuck on the New York Royal Cheesecake blizzard and its sick addiction. I'll be sure to post a review of the rehabilitation center I'm condemned to in order to break free of this habit. Anyway! There is a little Latina lady that usually works the morning shifts. She doesn't say much, however it is clear to me she's not being rude but shy. What do I know, could be anything, but I will tell you she makes an amazing Royal Cheesecake blizzard. All the ingredients, and in generous volume. Great job little Latina lady from the morning shift! I promise I'll get your name later, but for now congratulations you saved your Dairy Queen location a star on this review. Because of you , this review climbs to a 4 star rating. Evening shifts you still have work to do in my opinion. Have fun always but not at the expense of paying customers. Pay attention to how you're making these different flavors and display your masterpiece to the...
Read moreDon't order cakes from here. Put in an order 2 days prior to pickup, paid, and thought all would be well.
Time of pickup, we are told their walk-in was busted, all cakes ruined. Unfortunate, life happens - a phone call would have been great, but maybe they were overwhelmed with the situation. Should've been a big red flag in hindsight.
We were assured that a replacement was in progress (she pointed to the case at a half-made cake), to be ready later that afternoon, and with that assurance, went about our day.
Later that afternoon, I return to find out that the replacement cake was never actually started, that the manager had already left for the day (before 5p?)...
At this point, the reason for the cake is already in-progress. I ask why no one called, and I was told from the employee on the phone with the manager that she tried to call me at least 2 times, no answer.
I ask what phone number they called, as I show my empty call log. Told they can't disclose that information.
At this point, I confirm I want a refund. The employee had to call the manager back to make it happen, and even then, I was told it would be cash only -- no refunds to credit cards.
I don't blame the workers, but the management here is ridiculously lazy, incompetent, and clearly needs some remedial training on customer service and...
Read moreLet me tell you something I am beyond annoyed with place my husband and I and my son went to this Dairy Queen thru from the start this girl had such an attitude rushing us to order repeatedly 3 times told her what we wanted. ( but still we were chill as hell) So as we did we went around to pick up our stuff I could see from the drive thru window she was already making the wrong cone flavor. So when she proceeded to open the drive thru window my husband respectfully tells her I actually wanted the chocolate not the vanilla flavor cone she doesn’t apologize or anything she just makes an annoyed face and slams the drive thru window on my husband and says nothing. I can see her hand motions and body language talking smack about us while we wait there. It took this girl 4 attempts to make my cone A SIMPLE CONE! Dipped in chocolate. I was raged because at this point im assuming she was doing this on purpose. so she had the other girl do it instead. I’ve worked for the food industry before but I know you shouldnt treat customers this way for not doing anything wrong if you don’t like your job then quit don’t put your frustration out on others when this is your job. ...
