This restaurant has been here over 24 years and it has always been excellent. We are retired military, after 28 years, so we are very picky about food. We have eaten food on different continents, and are very picky about food choices. We first started eating here in 1997. The food is excellent and the service is outstanding. I am amazed that on these reviews would people turn up their noses at eating this healthy, delicious food , which is not covered in rancid oil, and in this nice , clean converted home, but don’t mind eating at dirty places , with unhealthy food, and dirty restaurants like McDonald’s. I’m amazed that people in Tucson would pay the amounts that they are charging for greasy cold burgers At drive throughs , but they want to pay less for the top shelf food, which is served here. It seems like the people who are from the midwestern states only want red meat , and fried pork, or burgers and no lamb, no vegetables . Thank goodness for the Mexican food here , and other cultures, like the Indian , and the middle eastern...
Read moreCalled to make reservations for our 5th anniversary and was told that I didn't need them, I then asked if 7 o'clock was to late and they said that was fine, got there at 6:50 and was turned away because they aren't serving any more, we were really excited to try it and extremely disappointed that we were not able to try it, after that experience I won't be back to try it, we could have been there earlier if they had just told us 7 was to late on the phone.... Bad way to handle business when you are a new restaurant. I will say that it was clean inside and smelled amazing but sadly we were not able to try the food. This put us in a bad spot to find something else last notice for our anniversary dinner! Ps it was the owner himself that told us on the phone that 7 was fine, and just walked right past us without saying anything when we were trying to explain that we had called and been told 7 was fine, he obviously did not care! Guess if you aren't "of thier culture" they don't care about your...

Which runs to 10pm on select Thursday evenings when DJ Herm (a local favorite) spins a hive of young Burning Man types into a proper good vibe of Ethiopian funk, African disco, dancehall, Brazilian, afrobeat & Latin music. I went a few nights ago with a good friend who was visiting from LA, (and also happens to be a DJ) and we danced the whole time. To music we've never heard before. And it felt so great. Who would have thought that sweaty-dancing on a tiny open-air patio of an Ethiopian cafe, with a bunch of beanie wearing hipsters would be so fun? Never say never. This is a quintessential Tucson experience that I'd...
