We just finished eating here. I was a big fan of Lemongrass in Murfreesboro, so we decided to try this place out for the first time. Our service was awesome. Everyone was super nice and quick. The place isn't huge, so it has an intimate atmosphere, which my girlfriend and I found very nice. We felt comfortable in our booth and secluded. Very nice. Our first pick was the Gyoza appetizer. It was very nicely presented on a bed of lettuce with some garnish vegetables in the shape of a flower. They were light and crispy with an onion flavor that was superb. We also shared a bowl of Miso soup, which was warm and flavorful as expected. Plenty of scallions, tofu, and seaweed in the mix, but not overwhelmingly so. Next came our Sushi. We tried the Kobe Roll, which is a tuna based sushi without the traditional rice wrap around it. I am a hardcore texture eater, so it didn't appeal to me when it arrived, due to the meaty, loose and slippery look of it. I tried a bite anyway and was right about the texture, but the flavor was awesome. Just mentioning the texture because that's a ME thing and not a food quality thing to be completely upfront in my review. If you are like me and don't eat things due to the mouth feel of them, give this a try anyway. It was worth it for the taste, even if I could only manage a few bites. We also had the Sunrise Roll, which was Shrimp Tempura and Crab based traditional sushi. Also incredible. I can't wait to try more combinations. Our meal came, very fast. We got everything almost together and I didn't fully have time to finish my soup. The only thing I could really say I didn't fully care for. Pacing the food is important, and it comes a little too close together. Which means they could relax a little between the courses. BUT, better too fast than waiting I guess. Probably just another ME thing. My girlfriend ordered the Garlic Chicken and she loved it. I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice. They were both good portions and well prepared. At the end we spent around 60 bucks. I'd call that good food for the price in my book. We expected to spend a bit more. Overall I highly recommend this place and can't wait to try it again. It just might be my...
Read more“Everything from the food to the staff and just the overall atmosphere in this place was amazing” was what Gabriel wrote on a Google Maps review after eating at Sushi Thai–a Thai cuisine restaurant located along the strip mall of 1905 North Jackson Street in Tullahoma. I honestly have to agree with him; stepping into the restaurant, I felt as though I was walking through a bridge that connected the dual worlds of the East and West. My eyes were transfixed on the minutiae of details that comprised the small yet compact restaurant. The restaurant wasn’t very spacious, but it was arranged in such a way that you’d hardly notice it. The room itself was decorated with various Thai-inspired decorations. The staff were the most delightful. They had a pleasing personality and greeted us with such candid smiles. I remember feeling proud to think of them as my Southeast Asian brothers and sisters. When I was led to the seat by one of the staff, what grabbed my attention, mostly because I was seated directly facing it, was a mural of what looked like a golden Buddha in a meditation pose in the middle of a mandala pattern. In hindsight, I realized how the Thai ornamentations plastered on the typical American redbrick wall made for a good analogy of how America entices its immigrants to integrate their native culture into the cultural melting pot that defined American identity. This idea of cultural integration and assimilation was further strengthened when we were served our ordered food; the food was exotic enough to be considered Thai cuisine, but it somehow gave off the familiarity of an...
Read moreWe recently celebrated our triplets' birthday at Sushi Thai in Tullahoma, and it was a unanimous choice! Even with Nona and Papa, who aren't usually seafood fans and had never visited, everyone found something delicious. The menu is incredibly diverse, offering plenty of non-seafood options, making it easy for them to choose. The kids and my wife happily dove into a variety of sushi, while I stuck with my reliable favorite, the Pad Thai. Everything was fantastic – the food is consistently great, and the atmosphere always adds to a pleasant dining experience. What truly sets Sushi Thai apart is their service. It's easily the best in Tullahoma! They always have plenty of competent staff on hand who are friendly, attentive, and genuinely provide outstanding service. It’s comforting to know you'll always have a great experience. Whether you're a sushi lover or prefer something else, Sushi Thai is a top pick for any family celebration or just a...
