We went to lunch on a Wednesday afternoon May 28th. I ordered the blackened catfish and shrimp. My partner ordered the grilled tilapia and shrimp. We both ordered the Mexican martini as well. We sat about 10 minutes before being greeted by the server. We gave our complete order when she arrived. She brought us water and we waited for our food for about 30 minutes. We still hadn't received our drinks when our food had arrived. We asked 2 people about our drinks and ended up finally receiving them when we were almost done eating. The server only checked on us once. I noticed several other tables receiving food before (non alcoholic)drinks as well so it wasn't an isolated incident with our server that day. Now I'm not sure if I received the wrong item or not but this did not resemble any blackened catfish I have ever had, nor did the menu say there was any sauce served on the fish. The two plates were almost identical despite one being ordered grilled and one blackened. The shrimp were bland and I didn't finish them, the catfish was good despite not seeming like what I ordered. The green beans were flavorless except for the bowl of butter they sat in but the French fries I was served were on point. The Mexican martini was definitely not very good and I would not recommend anyone order it. Overall based on the food and service I would not visit again or recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Hello my good people. Sooo we arrived in Tulsa yesterday and hubby wanted to try fish daddy. When I looked at the menu online it reminded me of Gibbons in Shreveport, which was a huge disappointment, so I was a bit skeptical but we still gave them a try hoping they would be different. We started out with a bowl of gumbo to share. It was too watery and vinegary šŸ˜–. Did not taste anything like gumbo. Hubby ordered the catfish atchafalaya. I tasted the crawfish etouffee and it was horrible. It was almost as if they burned the roux šŸ˜•. So it was a burned salty flour taste. No crawfish or seafood flavor at all. I ordered the FD’s combo. My 3 entrees were the grilled fish, grilled shrimp, and stuffed shrimp. All of it was trash, and that is where it eventually ended up. My two sides were seasoned corn and the red beans. I did enjoy the corn it was well seasoned and the beans were ok. I was spot on with my Gibbons comparison. It was crowded just like Gibbons and a gigantic letdown, just like Gibbons. Please stop making creole/cajun food if you don’t know what you’re doing. Maybe the people who go in there every day don’t know what it’s supposed to taste like, but I do, and I’m letting you know, IT IS NOT GOOD!!!! This is my opinion and I encourage all who are brave enough to try it for yourself. Have a great day. Until next time. āœŒšŸ½

My wife and I decided to try something new today and that was Fish Daddy's on 71st Street in Tulsa. Upon entering we found the place to be well yet very clean and the dining area was very spacious. We were seated promptly and our waitress Julia quickly to our drink order. I ordered the catfish and shrimp platter with coleslaw and fries. My wife ordered the grilled shrimp with rice and fried catfish served with a baked potato and steamed broccoli. I also ordered the three dip appetizer. Our appetizer a right promptly and the chips with it were nice and warm we found each of the dips to be very tasty especially the spinach dip and queso. Julia had also made sure to bring additional chips just before we ran out. Our food soon arrived after we finish the appetizers. Both meals were nice and hot and well seasoned. My wife's broccoli was nicely cooked, our catfish was very flaky and nice crispy crust. My fries were very crisp and the coleslaw what's delicious. The only problem with the meal was I felt like the catfish strips were a little small. As for the atmosphere we enjoyed ourselves very much until near the end of our dining experience when another waitress began vacuuming the booth behind us which was a little disturbing as we finish our meal. Overall it was not a bad dining experience and I would probably return.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Tulsa. We dined there again on Easter Sunday & what I witnessed caused us to reconsider ever returning.

Our food was good & the service was great as usual. This was our first time sitting in the back of the bar area, so I ironically had a clear view of the congested food line/counter where the servers pick up customer’s food. I seriously cannot believe what I observed!

Albeit unfortunately (and fortunately at the same time), this was after we were finished eating our meals. I saw one male server take a fry off of a customer’s plate. I’m not sure if he ate it or not because he walked the other way after he took the fry.

Another male employee used his bare hands to move food around on a customer’s plate & then he took a cloth that was sitting on the counter to wipe the top of that plate. The same employee later rubbed his nose a few times-which I assume was a reflex, but unsanitary just the same when you’re working with & touching customer’s food. He continued to take plates off the counter, move food around on some customer’s plates & use the same cloth that was sitting on the counter to wipe the top of some of the plates near customer’s food. No sanitizer. No handwashing.

The female employee beside him was holding her phone briefly to look at something. When the next plates were ready, she took the plates off the top shelf & moved food around on 2 plates with her bare hands-never washing or sanitizing her hands after handling her phone.

I was really surprised to see this at such a wonderful, popular restaurant. I’d never sat near the bar & I still can’t determine if I’m glad I did or not. I had to wonder if this is normal practice here or possibly at other quality restaurants. I surely hope not. It also caused me to wonder what else happens in the kitchen & near that food counter that customers cannot & do not see…

I want to believe that this is unacceptable to management & I’m certain that it’s unacceptable to conscientious paying customers.

I don’t know that I can forget what I observed today. I also don’t think I will return to Fish Daddy’s knowing that employees, especially those who don’t work in the kitchen are most likely putting their bare, unclean hands on our food or wiping and/or picking off our plates before they come out to my family, friends & me.

Management needs to know about this (if they don’t already) & customers especially need to be made aware of it! If customers choose to dine at Fish Daddy’s, I would just encourage them to observe the food counter in the back of the restaurant - clear view from the back of the bar area before their food is brought out to them.

Aside from that, I would give our ā€œpotentially picked over & touched foodā€ 4 stars for taste and quality & the 5 stars for the service -thanks to the female bartender & the young man who brought out our appetizers....

One of the worst experiences I have had in a long time. As someone who works in the industry and has for over 6 years, it was incredibley disappointing to have the service like we did. They charge a service fee for larger parties, so our server knew she was getting money no matter what and that caused her to not care about our table. Our server did not greet the table for 10 mins+ when we first sat down, and when she did she immediately started getting our drinks and did not even tell her name or try to be polite. We got our appetizers before we even got our drinks- as in WATER because our server was never in any rush to get anything done. We had used some of our silverware for our apps so when our main course arrived, we asked for silverware but she never got it for us and we had to personally go ask the bartender to get silverware, by which time our food was cold because we were all sitting and waiting for silverware. She never once pre-bussed any of her tables and all the tables around us sat dirty for the entire time we were there. We had began to put our own dirty plates on the dirty tables next to us because she did not get them from us and we had to make room for our food. She had an attitude the entire time and did not try to check on us and make sure that we were happy with any of our meals, and we had to ask for refills, condiments, ect. several times before she actually got it to us. When we finally asked for a manager, the manager did nothing to help other than dispute every statement we had, and then told us she would "take care of [us] and make things right," and when we got the bill and nothing was changed, we had to again ask for the manager to handle it, in which case she took off ONE appetizer when our ENTIRE experience was horrible. It was also a family member's birthday, so it was especially disappointing for her. We went out to eat for the experience, and service is a part of that. If you cant get drinks out fast enough, you need to have another bartender on or a manger should be getting behind the bar and helping out themselves. If a server is struggling to manage her tables, a manager should get on the floor and help. I never once saw any managers on the floor until we had to get her ourselves. Once we were leaving, I ran to the restroom and caught the manager and our server talking badly about our table like we were the problem. Again, I am very understanding because I work in the industry and I know when a table is extra needy or rude, and we were none of that. We tried to stay polite and ask for things over again in case she forgot, but it was absolutely out of hand how poor her manners were and how little she cared about us. We will NOT be back ever again, based soley on how we were treated by...

We came here for my daughter's 17th birthday, and was looking forward to eating here and I bragged how good the food was the last time. The waitress was friendly and a sweetheart and we had great service. Now for the food, I got the blackened catfish and fried shrimp with French fries and subsistuted the Cole slaw for extra fries. The blackened catfish and fried shrimp was just ok, it was lacking flavor and seasoning, the French fries was also bland and didn't seem even salted, the rice was a very tiny portion under the blackened catfish but I wasn't a fan of the rice either so that was fine. The meal was just bland. My youngest daughter got the firecracker shrimp as a meal, she was looking forward to it because last experience it was really good. This time though the sauce tasted like plain mayo all over the shrimp. It was very off-putting and she had all of us try it and we all agreed it only tasted like it was drenched in mayo, she regretted ordering it and she thought it was alot of shrimp in the tiny bowl until she saw it was more then half just lettuce under the shrimp. My other daughter order the chicken tenders with extra fries, she didn't have any complaints. And my oldest daughter and her boyfriend shared the FDS favorites, they thought the little 3 piece grilled shrimp was good, neither of them liked the rice, the whipped potatoes was nothing special and wasn't seasoned. The portion sizes was tiny. Overall, the service from our waitress was amazing but the food wasn't worth coming back or driving 45 minutes for and definitely not for a...
