Gung-Ho is a must-visit for any anime and ramen lover. The restaurant offers a delightful blend of delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a unique dining experience.
We tried the Goku bowl and the Naruto bowl, both of which were exceptional. The Goku bowl was a hearty mix of pork belly, fried chicken, grilled chicken, shrimp, boiled egg, and perfectly cooked noodles. The Naruto bowl felt like it was straight out of the show, featuring pork belly, mushrooms, fish cakes, boiled egg, seaweed, and green onions with equally good noodles. Both bowls had rich, flavorful broth that was both tasty and filling.
A highlight of our visit was the bubble tea, which was a new but welcome experience. It complemented the meal perfectly and added an extra touch of uniqueness.
The atmosphere of Gung-Ho is another standout feature. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with wooden furniture and has multiple TVs playing different animes, making it feel like an anime lover's dream. The prices were affordable, adding to the overall appeal of the place.
Overall, Gung-Ho provides an excellent dining experience with delicious food, a great atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Whether you're an anime fan or just a lover of good ramen, this place is definitely...
Read moreThis place is so fun! The kimchi fries were even better than we expected and pretty big! The vegetable spring rolls were super crispy and the filling was so flavorful and we really liked the peach dip it came with. I love the idea of strawberry cream cheese wontons and they were great- extra crispy with a sweet, tangy, creamy filling. The staff was so friendly and each table had a little sketchbook for drawing. We just split some appetizers and smoothies this time but we'll be back again to try entrees for sure.
We came back a couple times. Admittedly, I am not the target audience. I don't know anything about anime but I know I do love the food here. The Cheetos crusted sushi burrito is goofy and delicious but the Cheetos overpower everything else so I probably wouldn't get it again- but I'm happy i got to try it. The kimchi and fried chicken ramen was stupid-good. The chicken was perfect and crispy and the fried garlic was awesome and all the flavors worked well together. I'd like to say I'd get this ramen again but everything has been great so far and they have so much more stuff I want to try I'm not sure when I'll...
Read moreHonestly worst ramen we've ever had. Shoyu didn't taste like it should. Too much spinach- like at least 2 handfuls?!? and almost nothing else. The pork was all fat.
Tonkotsu also didn't taste quite right and the chicken was super dry.
The ramen egg did NOT go with the Shoyu flavors at all. I think they're cooked in a different broth, so the falvors didn't mix at all. My husband, who is obsessed with ramen egges, even said it was "gross." I've never in my life experienced that in over 50 ramen shops I've visited
We didn't finish any of our ramen.
I will say the bowls the to-go come in are super cool and the directions very clear.
The dumplings were ok.
Not worth the $$ and super disappointed. I think they're spending too much on ads on Instagram and Reddit (how I found them) and not enough in sticking to traditional recipes. Would not recommend to anyone who has ever had...
