My SO and I have been to this Sonic a few times or so the past year, and it literally seems like if you catch this place on an off day, it's impossible to get any service. We went by today for a Chicken Sandwich and a Milkshake, literally just that and sat at the drive-in for a total of 45 minutes. 45 minutes, pressed the red button three times over the course of that time, and didn't get a peep from anyone. Not even a "we're busy so it will be a few minutes", which I would have certainly understood and at least welcomed the acknowledgement. But nope, crickets. We watched other cars give up and leave, and we did the same.
Went to another Sonic a few minutes in the other direction. Got immediate service and our food within 10 minutes. Whoever owns/runs the Sonic on Memorial near Walmart seriously needs to check in on their staff. Granted, most of them that we saw in there when we drove away didn't look older than teenagers, so perhaps a training issue. I ordered ahead of time on the app for one cheeseburger meal and checked in as soon as I arrived. 20 minutes go by and it still says in the kitchen, a few more minutes and it says that one of the employees is bringing me my food. After a couple minutes I press the red button and am told that they had 4 online orders and were working on it. When I asked why it said that someone brought out my food and cleared my screen they said they were working on it. Ten more minutes go by and I still don’t have my food. I ended up leaving without any refund due to it being an online order and without my food. I knew it wouldn’t be normal service since it was July 4th but I figured it would not be too long since they had no one in drive through and weren’t full in their stalls. Read moreSummary: 1 trip perfect, the other an outright catastrophe. Bad enough that i will never, ever give this location another chance. First time at this location, was impressed. Sign said short staffed, but they were still quick, and the food was still great. Got a toaster sandwich, slush, Sonic blast, all were perfect. People were friendly. I watched 1 guy through the drive thru window mopping and sanitizing every square inch of counter, floor - everything, like a man on a mission. Sanitizer galore. I half expected him to spray down the guy at the window. That place is cleaner than most hospitals. Was very impressed by the people working and will definitely be back 10/3 update: went back, waited over 10 minutes in the drive the, no one even said anything into the speaker. Absolutely abysmal.
